Guest Wilf Marshall
I'm starting to think that we want some guy like this. A while ago I thought no way because I don't like the guy much. In reality though I can't see who else would come in and sort the team out. I feel that Davies would crack heads and get them scrapping, and keep us up. Long term - no I don't want him in charge. Either him or Di Canio for the immediate future. I am purely thinking of managers who could fire us up. So many names getting thrown about like Worthington and Ronnie Moore that are just a joke to be honest. It's just one after the other in the last few days and they aren't going to do jack. Edited December 11, 2012 by Wilf Marshall
Mr Farrell
He's a bit like Meggo, but not ginger. 2nd best. Lets have the real thing.
Guest Wilf Marshall
I think the likelihood of Megson coming back is zero.
Paddyowl
IF DJ goes, please, please not Billy Davies.
tomhollywood
I'd have him. Long term is pointless because long term thinking doesn't seem to exist between clubs and fans these days. Average life of a manager is about 18 months so might as well dish out short term contracts and see what happens.
Guest Stereophonics
He'd be my second choice after Megson coming back.
Rodger Wylde
If the devil himself turned it down, then, and only then would I ask Davis.
sweetsheri
Billy Davies = Annoying little ******. Teams play horrible football DiCanio = Numpty. I don't think he's even doing that well at Swindon. Might be entertaining for a while but i'd soon get fed up of his antics Hoddle/Wilkins for me, but i doubt very much they could be tempted. BIG D
Billy Davies all day long. Annoying little tw@t but would sort this lot out no danger.
tomhollywood
Genuine question - why does a managers personality hold so much importance?

Guest chaferswfc90
Was talking about this with my mate the other day! If DJ was to go i feel we need a manager no one likes (Nice guys finish last and all that). Being well liked and having connection in football is not everything. With Megson oppersition fans didnt like his attitude and his style of football but week in week out it was great to see other teams fans coming on here moaning about how dirty we are and that we bully teams. This season we have once again become a soft touch and teams arent worried about playing us.
ReadingOwl
Billy Davies had money at Forest. And, still fell out with them. Milan and Billy. A marriage made in heaven. Not a chance.
Almat
Genuine question - why does a managers personality hold so much importance? I got this nonsense when I was suggesting McCarthy way before he got the Ipswich job. I genuinely don't care whether the manager is a nice bloke or a complete cod canyon - as long as he is a good manager for us. If you love your club why would it even be a consideration? Megson isn't exactly well loved outside S6. Edited December 11, 2012 by Almat
Rodger Wylde
He picks the team? Ooooo! That's a tricky one.
ReadingOwl
Milan will choose a Manager who fits in with his plans for S6. You all want a firebrand - not a chance he would choose one of those. And, why he will stick with Jones. How many losses now? And, most of you still don't get the message.

So you don't want Davies in charge long term but short term, yes. What would be Davies incentive to keep us up? How does his record make him a good candidate? What do you plan to do at the end of the season? Sack him end of season so that we have 3 well paid managers on our books. How does this plan move is on, if we finish up in League 1 anyway. Why didn't you add this to yesterday's Billy Davies thread? Are we going to have one after another BD thread, cos you're fed up with the other manager threads.
