Glaser
Kieran Lee, Mattock, Corry, McCabe, Mayor, Maguire, Rodri Embarrassing.... can't get a game .... ALL Jones' signings .... None of the above have made an impact, none of the above are good enough to be regulars. He has completely wasted the amazing opportunity we had this summer. Build a squad capable of consolidation in this division, ready to have a real go next year .... Now, we need another pre-season to build that team again, maybe even build a promotion chasing side for league one on a reduced budget ? ? Appalling recruitment, responsibility Dave Jones cannot shy away from

paulrs
And you fail to mention Pecnik or Taylor or Bothroyd. This is the main reason we are where we are. It's criminal. It's also the main reason he should go now. To those who believe we should stick with him and let him sort it out, how can you possibly think based on his record so far that he would make the right signings in January? fatzooma
Sack the waste of space and Money and opportunity. Wednesday are a joke with money(ish) whilst our skint neighbours are doing it effortlessly.. Hate to say it but good on em.
Lincowl
Ultimately not only did we miss out on McCarthy by sticking with Jones but would Mandaric really trust Jones with another transfer window? He's a dead man walking and all this time we've squandered on him is ridiculous.
Bluesteel
We didn't bring enough in to help us this season, I think mayor, McCabe etc will be decent but over time. The idea of using them alone over the course of the season to bolster last seasons squad is mental though. Mattock seems like another average player to keep our wage bill filled though. torres
I agree 100%. Has he improved on the 11 that played in league 1? Only kirkland and gardner would get close to getting in. A real waste of a great opportunity to get this club on the right path.

RichSheffWeds
Does anyone remember a Leicester fan coming on here and saying Mattock had an attitude problem? Why would recruit that type of player? It's embarassing,

Appalling recruitment, responsibility Dave Jones cannot shy away from What you dont realise is that the development/reserve squad has been brought back this season so a whole new team had to be signed to fill this squad that is with the future in mind....hence the title DEVELOPMENT SQUAD. In reality 5 or 6 players have been brought in to go into the first team squad. Most have been free transfers, most were not wanted by other clubs at this level. The centre midfielder we went for again on a free chose leeds, no doubt they were able to offer more money than us. Leeds who were skint have a higher wage budget than us. How do you consolidate when you have 1 million pounds max to spend (Majority went on Antonio), have to sign at least 10 players under 23 to play in the devolpment squad and you still have players like Reynolds and Coke on good contracts that will milk it. DJ is a yes man, MILAN signs who he wants, He did it at Portsmouth, He did it at Leicester and now he is doing it here. Go on the Leicester forums and ask what they really feel about Milan and what he actually did for them after he initially saved them.......Same at portsmouth. Players turning up for training on a monday morning that the manager didn't want, it happened here with megson and he didn't stand for it and he's now tending Milans tomatoes and spuds. NeonLeon
It's daft that a self proclaimed builder has replaced a squad of young and up and coming lower league players, with a tidy mix of experience. With unproven kids and over age has beens. It all seems like a squad for the short term. PA said at the Fans Forum that players like Corry and McCabe are ones for the future. But that circumstance has led to them playing more than was planned. Yet in the current squad DJ ha assembled they are the only options in midfield after Lines and Semedo. Yet tried and tested players like Lee and Maguire aren't getting a look in. So basically, from what I can see, DJ/MM/PA have recruited the wrong players to create depth in the wrong areas. We needed to strengthen our options in midfield incase of injury. Corry was signed after Lines' injury if I remember it correctly. So why did we not also sign a midfielder to cover Lines being injured, to prevent from having to play Corry. If the plan was to ease him in. Poor signings and DJ's tactics have led to young players being rushed.Yet the experienced players we have signed are in positions where they seemingly can't get close enough to the 11 to add anything worthwhile in terms of depth. Guest Petwiz
Today was an admission of guilt by dj in my opinion, last years side playing last years megson tactics, dj's 10+ summer signings have proven to be mistakes, his poor recruitment in the summer has led to us being in a dogfight with relagation a very real possibility, mm and pa must look and think where are these signings we sactioned, dj had it all after wycombe game but has thrown it all away by bad management, thats why he needs pumping, has any other wednesday boss bought as pooly as dj has? Even when we hadnt a pot to wee wee in
Mike Hunt
How many players have Jones actually signed though ? To many for me resemble Uchechi and Kasnic from last season , and Megson didnt sign them either
gurujuan
I don't buy all this stuff about players being forced on managers. Jones has signed some good young players, but they are players for the future, not now. Yes because of the legacy Megson left, an ageing team short of quality, we needed to bring the age of the squad down. Most people don't have a problem with these young recruits, it's the way the first team has been shaped that concerns people.
BEARBEAR
But we were all so excited by some of these signings in the summer. They don't just become bad players over night so what has happened?
