Chris_B_SWFC
Why not try that hard against Watford, in a game where we were at one stage winning? We should never have to be saying "yeah we lost, but at at least they tried". Trying is expected, not an added chuffing bonus for us fans to spaff in our pants about when it happens. They should try just as hard EVERY flipping GAME! For the money they're on, it's an absolutely ridiculous idea that some days they should just not be bothered. Do these players think that if they "try hard" and "bust a gut" once a month, then we as fans will be satisfied? Since the bad run kicked in after the decent start, how's my games have they "tried"? Peterborough and Ipswich obviously, but how many more? Leeds, Forest and Cardiff? Sorry, not good enough for me. Try your best in all 46 games, or flip off out of our club. SiJ
trying is the bare minimal that should be expected of a professional footballer.
MirfieldOwl
Absolutely agree. But then again, everyone is just commenting on the back of the most recent match.
Chris_B_SWFC
everyone is just commenting on the back of the most recent match. Don't care, sorry. We've got fans creaming themselves over the fact that the players put loads of effort in today, but how many points have we thrown away on the days the players just couldn't be arsed? Chris_B_SWFC
But who do we blame now that Bothroyd didn't play?
victorturner
But who do we blame now that Bothroyd didn't play? Blame the fact that we don't have a reliable striker- whoever's to blame for it. G Madine cannot be expected to deliver it all esp as our midfield/crossers rarely produce clear goal opportunities. And yes it is annoying to be told that the players tried-that's basic! nebneeb
This is the most frustrating thing for me. If we put the correct effort and application into every game we play, we wouldn't be in the position we are.
nebneeb
But who do we blame now that Bothroyd didn't play? Nobody. Losing 1-0 away from home against top of the league in our first season back in the Championship is acceptable... Maybe we should be noting that to get the required level of effort throughout the team, it required Bothroyd not being a part of it.

Guest swfcadz
their job is been a footballer and whatever club they play for they should give 100 percent every game if not why are they in the job and at the club they are at in the first place weve lost again and wasnt good enough once again cardiff was unlucky not to score more soo we arent improving at all
gurujuan
Sadly, there isn't much else to praise at the moment, so people are just trying to find something they can be positive about. Had Cardiff but away their chances, that extra effort would have gone unnoticed.

striker
It is concerning that it takes a 'top' performance to stop the other team scoring without posing any threat. To me snacks of a lower league v higher league cup tie To compete in this league we need points otherwise we will be that lower league side
Ronnie Starling
I think that at the end of the Bristol City game Jones should talk to them all in the centre circle and tell them how well they did, how hard they tried and then give them a round of applause regardless of the result. He should then get a carrier bag out and give them all a Milky Way while collecting their subs from their parents because it seems we have resorted to becoming an under 7s Sunday League team.
