Next Saturday v Bristol is........

Recommended Posts

This is the really annoying thing for me. We had some winnable games in the run up to Christmas and had we strengthened the side before the deadline, I felt there were points to be had. We didn't, well not in any meaningful way and now all we can do is try and hang in there until January. As I posted in the other thread, Bristol at home will be totally different to today. The emphasis will be on us to be creative and score goals. Can anyone see this side doing that? Hopefully there will be no lack of effort, but we just do not have the quality to go out and win these type of games. We'll huff and puff, come close on a few occasions, but ultimately Bristol will run out easy winners.

Why will Bristol be easy winners ? Are they having a great season, are they a top 5 club, are they a free scoring attacking away side ? Or is it because Bothroyd will be back ? Even with him in the side I fancy us to win,but if hes not so much the better.

It doesn't follow that an improved performance today, will result in a better performance against Bristol. There have been several times this season when we have given it our all and lost narrowly, only to be well beaten in the following game. It's a classic case of players being not quite good enough.
