Do you believe his absence is a stregth or weakness , from what am seeing and reading he is truely living up to his "bottler tag.

On One Hand he is a tried and tested striker but on the other his absence could give a teenager with potential a start

I guess we will see - it may give Danny Mayor a run out, who has looked decent when he has been on the pitch, so it may bring that breath of fresh air and a bit of unpredictability. I think JJ will play there though.

Bothroyd has been dire for us; he hasn't lived up to the pre-signing hype. That's what it is.

Either way, tomorrow (sorry, I mean today) will be tough.

A definite strength, Bothroyds time here has been a huge disappointment, though Jones must take some of the responsibility for that.

He's been played out of position out on the right for no apparent reason. If anything he weakens us defensively in that position because he won't track back. Similarly he won't support an attack with any urgency so leaves the striker isolated.

For all he offers in that role we'd be better off playing JJ/Mayor who would at least give the attacking threat or going 442 and playing a central player out wide who would at least offer some of the defensive benefits.

With Bothroyd as a wide player we are effectively playing with 10 men. If only we'd taken the chance to blood Mayor instead whilst the results were still good. Far easier to bring inexperience into a positive/confident team.

This cannot be measured. Who really knows the answer to this.

Bothroyd may have played out of his skin today against his old club. Conversely, he may have had a mare.

Who knows?

It means someone will come in that wasnt previously not doing as much as Bothroyd to get a start.

It doesn't though. Players have been picked on reputation for years in all teams.

Take Fernando Torres at Chelsea now for example.

I'm never one to get on players backs and have refrained commenting until now, but nobody can deny that he has been dire, apart from the Leeds game and maybe forest.

We can't be any worse without him, so it's only a positive for me.

I'd be raging if I was Madine, having to watch Bothroyd start week in, week out ahead of you.
