Almat
They don't. You're saying the only factor in whether a manager is measured is promotions? I believe DJ's win percentage in the Championship stands comparison with anyone, but if we're only looking at the criteria you've decided on then I can't argue. PS. MM's record in the Prem with Sunderland was dire wasn't it? Of course I measure managers in promotions; why wouldn't you? The rest is just stats. If only win %tages on their own got you promoted To be honest their win records are very similar when you consider MM has spent far longer in the PL than DJ. And they can be very misleading (DJ's win %tage here is a very good 50% but the vast majority of them were last season so the figure is skewed). No idea how this will tab but here goes: MM Team Nat From To Record G W D L Win % Millwall 18 March 1992 4 February 1996 203 74 70 59 36.45 Republic of Ireland 1 March 1996 5 November 2002 68 29 19 20 42.65 Sunderland 12 March 2003 6 March 2006 147 63 26 58 42.86 Wolverhampton Wanderers 21 July 2006 13 February 2012 270 104 66 100 38.52 Ipswich Town 1 November 2012 Present 1 1 0 0 100.00 Total 688 270 181 237 39.24 As of 9 November 2012. torryowl
as things stand, there's nobody out there that's a decent replacement for DJ. can think of one, experienced in taking over a club near the bottom and getting them moving forward with the added bonus of getting a club promoted out of this division on his cv . DJMortimer
It doesn't need to be some big name, a new manager will improve things with taking a fresh approach. Step forward Pearson If in doubt, trot a vacuous slogan out.

Win record %tages but in the sense of promotions from the Champ. and time spent in the PL, like I said originally MM has a far better record. Not really open to doubt. PeteG_1984
No if we go down I won't go to another league 1 game I can't handle it any more I can't promise that I'll never go to another game but I would seriously lose all hope in football if this happened again. We've surely served our sentence in that league haven't we?

Almat
Both his promotions came after several seasons in the Championship I see. As did DJ's ONE promotion to the PL. Whichever way you try and spin it he unequivocally has what I claimed he has - a far better record in the Champ. and PL than DJ. Agreed? Guest wadsgod
Quite a serious question , It seems that Wednesdayites are divided on DJ stay or out. This question is simply put to those who think he should stay. Would you accept Relegation with DJ and keep him in his post, if the answer is no , at what point should he go, whether pushed or resign. I would not accept religation under any circumstances. The next question is a bit more tricky, do we keep him and let him do some wheeling and dealing or do we get rid and give the reigns to somebody else before it's to late. If only we could see into the future.

Animis
If clear progress was made, I wouldn't totally dismiss the idea of keeping DJ after relegation. Afterall, we have become a yoyo club between League 1 & the NPC ... In terms of on the field performance and off the field too - Wage bill & being able to afford / attract players from rival League 1 clubs (but not rival NPC ones) the whole club would need to take a look at itself it we went down again. Jesus - we are one of the biggest clubs in this league with no debt.
Guest MrsGoggins
Relegation will cost millions, didn't MM say each season in L1 cost him 7 million? We needed to be more prudent with the budget so that we could afford better quality in key positions. Take a look at the size of the squad and how many poor players we have, they all cost money and why the need for four keepers it's f**king baffling. The development squad should have come once we were established back in the championship with as much money as possible going into the first 11. Relegation would be a disaster.
