Guest ka58
In my opinion Steve Adams. Again a very under rated player who I don't think we managed to utilise to his full advantage. On his day he was unstoppable, unfortuantely for Wednesday we never saw that day. Kidding yeah?

bradowl
Mick Lyons and Mel Sterland ran through brick walls for Wednesday. From early 70s Dave Clemence, nicknamed The Tank.

HOOTIE AND THE SHIT TU
Jeff King Killed Sabella with one tackle This. And when he studded Mick Speight in the chest during the same game, the boxing day massacre was on. Just a bloke, who used up all his luck in one go when he met his wife. malek
Watching Wednesday from 94 I would have said Pearson, though likes of Coughlan and Semedo are not far of. Reputation wise it has to be Lyons.

torryowl
Graham Coughlan was quite hard. Once played with concussion! as opposed to ashley westwood who played like he had concussion ........ken knighton for me
Jackie Sewell
This plus Mike Lyons Should also add Tony Kay Thing was Curtis, Swan, and Kay all played in the era when you could fly in, even late and take man and ball. They were all real hard men who got stuck in but I think Curtis was the one whose main weapon was intimidation especially with his two footed sliding tackle at full speed. Once saw him against Matthews and after a couple of these tackles Matthews simply didn't want the ball. Also remember in those days it was hard to get sent off or even booked. As Jack Charlton once said- he would have got sent off in the tunnel before the game started if he was playing now.
Hawkeye
Pearson and thome at centre backs, hardest looking defenders iv seen in my time. Geary used to love chucking himself into tackles, made even funnier by him being 4ft 8" Reda looks like he could do the most damage of the current lot
lanzaroteowl
Laurie Madden. I can remember a tackle (maybe Coventry in the cup) when he nearly put the opposing player in the South Stand, ferocious tackle!
