Pompeyowl
Watching SSN this afternoon and they spoke about the Brian Clough Cup that is competed for between Derby and Nottingham Forest each time they play. It got me wondering how people would feel if we had a Derek Dooley Cup to be played for each Steel City derby?
WBridgfordowl
Might be years before we have to play those scubbers again Perhaps pre-season County Cup?
SandersonsElectronic
Great idea that.
royalowlisback
Should be the Henderson's Cup, or the Derek Dooley Cup sponsored by Henderson's.
Pompeyowl
Might be years before we have to play those scubbers again Perhaps pre-season County Cup? Reality would say that we could end up playing them next season. I can't imagine it'll be a great deal of time until we play them next. Should be the Henderson's Cup, or the Derek Dooley Cup sponsored by Henderson's. Good idea that.

"YOU NEED (to play) US, WE DON'T NEED (to play) YOU"...
KivoOwl
I fear we may be swapping places next season.
Sonny
I don't think it would be a very good idea, mainly because there isn't really any point to it. Our rivalry is already big and established with the winner getting 3 points.
Pompeyowl
The point would be to remember a legend of Sheffield football. Imagine in 50 years time, we play the pigs and win the Derek Dooley cup. It'll be another way of remembering the legend.

musingowl
Clough managed both Forest and Derby to glory. Dooley played for and managed us, he did a bit of paperwork for pigs.
HOOTIE AND THE SHIT TU
McCabe would probably want to call it The Jessica Ennis Cup. Just a bloke, who used up all his luck in one go when he met his wife.
BIG D
We'll both be in league we're in now next season. We won't be going down and the Scrubbers certainly won't be promoted. Edited September 30, 2012 by BIG D

dorian gray
Why? why would we want to play that lot of tinpot mongers by choice... it's like walking down the street looking for dog sh*t to tread in... leave them where they are...
Dark$ide
Didn't we have a Steel City cup pre-season "Friendly" with a trophy and everything in the 1990's ? I vaguely remember Dan Pretescru having a stormer at the lane just after signing.

Read my opening post. The cup wouldn't be played as a friendly but in competetive matches whenever we play ie in the league or cup.
