Your Antonio valuation

Recommended Posts

True, but it doesnt make him a proven Championship level winger, not even close.

Different level of course, but one example I'd use is that Liam Palmer has made a similar number of appearances for us, but the majority of them were not starts, and he only scored 1 goal, therefore it would be impossible to call him a "proven" player at that level, and start demanding inflated fees for him.

Spot on.

Unless of course we dont have £1 million to spend on a single player

Then its a relegation dog fight for us this season..

I'm pretty sure we do though? Only one paid transfer so far which was a nominal fee for Maguire

This is interesting.

What do we know & what don't we know.

We think MM bid £350k rejected. Well publicised so prob true

We think MM bid £500K, £700K £750K depending on what we read

There is speculation about split of the fee, Sell on rights, etc

Does anyone know, or think they know EXACTLY what Reading want?

How much, what proportion now, what Sell on

If MM does not know there will never be a deal, unless we bid stupidly over the Reading valuation.

Just let Reading say what they want and we can say yes or no

The thing is, the longer it drags on, the longer reading keep paying his wages, a stubborn chairman may take these things into account when adjusting his valuation, 700k 6 weeks ago might have done the job but not anymore

Reading holding us to ransom now, I would play hardball and drop our valuation and give them a take it or leave it offer of £500k and move on.

I think if Antonio feels to further his career by leaving Reading (said by McDermott) he should hand in a transfer request. As it stands Reading are trying to sell at a higher price than he is worth (especially with 1 year left on his deal). As it stands they don't necessarily need to sell as it's not like they need these funds for another signing having just got to the premier league. But if the player is trying to push a transfer through himself then there is more pressure to sell.

Explosive and productive player.

Home grown player.

Great attitude.

Young.

Physically reliable.

But in last year of contract and not going to be included in EPL squad.

My answer is:-

£750k guaranteed paid £250k now then two more payments to be made on anniversary of the deal.

£500k if promoted to EPL.

£250k if wins England cap.

£100k per 50 appearances limited to 100 appearances

10% sell on.

This therefore is a "£1.7m deal plus sell-on clause".

Regards

Lee

Bloody hell you have thought about that one lee.

I would say 1million for him as i think he will keep improving and be a great player for us if we got him
