English Man
Looks like he his definitely leaving if this report is anything to go by :( Shame I was looking forward to seeing him between the sticks in the blue and white. http://www.clicklancashire.com/sport/wigan-athletic-fc/1212977-ex-wigan-athletic-keeper-kirkland-leaves-sheffield-wednesday.html? camffiti
Hopefully this is true and the reason is nothing more serious than the traveling. If it is true, then we've dodged a bullet imo ... would've been reyt if he could stay fit though
FreshOwl
IF it is to do with location, and not his wife illness, then that is a torrid excuse

Guest wilyfox
pre-season only began last week, so how can travelling be taking it's toll?! i reckon they've jumped to the wrong conclusion.

I bet he could even afford a two seater Bentley
darklord
Did the distance grow after he signed, caught him off guard? 2 minutes on Google Maps would have told him the travel time. I would have checked before I put pen to paper.
Guest Brigadier
I'll wait till the OS announces it. For all we know, whoever wrote that article could have been reading Owlstalk.
0114
Turning out to be a strange situation this. But I doubt we'd have given him time off if it was solely based on travelling.
English Man
I guess we will find out for sure in due course but if it is just do to with travelling then it's a bit ridiculous to be honest. Surely he realised and thought about that before signing. Especially when players will be making long journeys all around the country anyway to get to games. All seems a bit odd. Lincowl
Between losing Burton and Macauley from the backroom staff, our inability to complete the most important deal of all for Antonio before the friendlies begin and now losing our most vaunted signing of the summer it isn't really shaping up to the most inspiring pre-season so far. Gardner looks a good signing if he can keep fit mind.
B.A Baracus
That article tell us nothing new. Keep quiet until anything is official. If it was as clear cut as that then it would have been confirmed by DJ in the interview with RS or in a statement.

Silkstone Owl
I was surprised to not see his name on either of the two team sheets earlier, so this story kind of has abit of basis to it. Lame excuse if true though and disappointed of true
