Of course Leeds United did it and so have a couple of other clubs, so its not the first time, Didn't Man U wear dark blue when they won the Champions Cup against Benfica.

And as someone else said, there is no rival to them that wears blue, so it wont have the same effect, of course that dosent mean the fans will approve of the change

I'm sure this attempt to reach the Premier League by spending beyond their means won't fail exactly like all the attempts that got them into this mess in the first place, that any drop in support will be made up by the many thousands of Malaysians who had only been put off supporting an unsuccessful second division football club from Wales by the colour of the shirt they played in, and that the addition of more empty seats to the stadium they didn't fill once last season will be a sound investment. Well worth trading their identity and heritage for.

i guess it wont be long before an "Investor" buys a non league club and really pumps them full of investment to get them into the premier league

Practically impossible now. The transfer embargo for breaching the wage cap in Leagues One and Two doesn't allow a club to pay players more than their fanbase will support, which severely limits what even the richest owner can do on the pitch. The Championship is really the lowest level a small club can buy their way up the league now, and in a couple of years it'll be even more heavily skewed in favour of big clubs and those coming down from the Prem.

Vincent Tan is the Chinese Malaysian behind Cardiff. He is also owner of the Berjaya Group of Hotels and has a big Lotto franchise in Malaysia. He is used to a gamble. Like almost all Chinese, they believe very much in the fortune of colours, numbers, positions of the lav and that sort of stuff - whats it called now Feng what?

(No disrespect to the Chinese intended)

its all about TV money and sponsorship

problem is there arent many debt free clubs in "glamourous" locations left, could Manchester support a 3rd top flight team? maybe

This puts the Club 9 Sports offer into perspective and highlights how desperate some people were at the time.

It also highlights the absolute absurdity of the proposed Geoff Sheard deal.

As a club and as fans we really have learned so much in the last five years about how football financing works.

Thanks Banch.

That really puts things into perspective.

I think Juventus did it too, although it was a while ago

slightly wrong - maybe he meant £15k

Veikkausliiga (Swedish: Tipsligan) is the premier division of Finnish football, comprising the top 12 clubs of the country. As of 2011 Veikkausliiga is ranked as the 28th best league in Europe. Its main sponsor is the Finnish national bettingagency Veikkaus, hence the league's name. Veikkausliiga was founded in 1990; before that the top division was calledMestaruussarja (championship series) since 1930 which was an amateur or semi-professional league. Between 1908 and 1930 the championship was decided in a cup competition.

Ykkönen (division one) has been the second highest level of Finnish football since 1973.

Like in some other cold-climate European countries (including Norway, Sweden and Russia), league matches in Finland are played in summer, with a schedule usually from April to October. The format and number of teams has changed frequently, and in the season 2012 there will be 12 teams and each team playing all other teams three times, altogether thus 33 rounds during the season. Uneven number of matches means that the best six teams from 2011 season will have 17 home matches and the other six teams will have 16 home matches. At the end of the season, the lowest-placed team is relegated to Ykkönen, whose winner will be promoted to Veikkausliiga.

In 2010 the average annual salary with fringe benefits for a league player was 24 400 euro.[1] Veikkausliiga is a founding member of the European Professional Football Leagues association.[2]

In this case I don't see too much of a problem, the money is substantial, as are the far east earning possibilities. They have no local rivals who play in red and it is traditionally the colour of their national side
