Orlando_Trustful
I'd have him in a flash for 250,000.
Oooh Lala Sibon
"after scoring the goal that clinched promotion for the South Yorkshire giants" Do they not know we are MASSIVE?

jeffers9
At £250,000 a big yes please! Bring him in, keep Ryan Lowe and of course Madine then we need 1 more hungry young striker - someone like Beavon from Wycombe?
Paul..
Yep 250k could really be a cracking bargain, DJ will know where his head's at after training with him for the past months.
manilovetheowls
He might be a 'changed man' but i bet if a prem team makes an offer for him thats where he will be going, and he will end up back in the same situation sitting on the bench or being loaned out. I would have him back here but only if he wants to come back for the right reasons

oh_weds_we_love_you
£250k and I'd bring him back tomorrow. But, what sort of salary is he on?!
nebneeb
Like others have said, nothing wrong with £250k transfer fee. But he's on more than twice as much as anyone else in our squad. People forget the budget includes players wages for the whole season. I doubt he will be willing to take a pay cut such that he falls into our structure, and I don't think he's worth breaking the bank and the wage structure for. ReadingOwl
Ranger has shown some good glimpses - along with a lot of mediocrity IMO. Glimpses, that is all. Is it enough to want him permanently? Well I don't see him in training, so I can't comment. I am indifferent to him - ill leave it to Jones. But ATM I wouldn't offer him a high wage, long term contract. McRightSide
At £250,000 a big yes please! Bring him in, keep Ryan Lowe and of course Madine then we need 1 more hungry young striker - someone like Beavon from Wycombe? Define hungry? in this context it means nothing. Are you just saying he's hungry cos he scored a few goals? And he's 28 I think.
gurujuan
Its probably not good news that Newcastle will sell him. The fee I would imagine would be doable but getting near his wages and a four year contract would be tricky Think for us the lesser risk of a season long loan on subsidised wages would have been the better option
ReadingOwl
Against Wycombe I would have taken him off at half time. He was second to every ball, mistimed every header and didn't impress. He had a better second half and obviously scored. So, what do I know? But, I am not over excited about retaining him. All about opinions I suppose. Sorry I agree with this - we need someone who is going to make a real difference up front if we are going to try for the playoffs next season. To be fair he has only just turned 21 - worth a punt at £250k and then we have two hungary young strikers leading us into the Championship. Hope they won't miss important league games on duty for the national side in Budapest then.
Ever the pessimist
Not fussed about Ranger to be honest. He has not really impressed me and I could see him having the occasional blinder over a season when everything goes right, but too many games offering very little. Plus, I think his game is too similar to Madine's
