striker
Gary Bannister - My dad took me to the game and he scored, simple as that! (I also liked Ante Mirosevic because he had a cool name) Later, obvious idols were Hirst and Sheridan. One an absolute goal machine (in the true sense of the word) and the other a pure genius with the ball. I will never forget Hirst's gaol v Hull when he turned on the half way line right in front of me and powered the ball in off the far post. I also remember Sheridan destroying us a couple of seasons ago, he must have been about 40, just stood on the centre circle for most of the match and dictated play. Just like the old days but in the wrong shirt!
