I am truly gutted.

Just as it seemed we were getting a bit of stability through the whole club.

I really am worried about the rest of the season now. What happens if the new manager comes in and we lose 4 games? does he then get sacked???

None of Milans thinking makes sense.

I live in Oz, it's really hard to post cos by the time I read 12 hours later most of the relevant points have already been made.

I could see it coming after losing 3 games, I think Milan took a look at who we have lost points to, Chesterfield, Exeter and Stevanage. We can't be dropping points against the small teams especially when we were going for automatic promotion.

I reckon this is a good a time as any to start.

I am so sad for Megson, this was his club, just like any one of us, I'd hate to know what he is thinking now, a MASSIVE derby-day win over an in-form United team and three days later he's out of a job. We weren't doing too badly, especially when you look at the teams' wage budgets around us

Last night I felt like I was not bothered if we go up or not. Was punching the air when I heard Scunny had took the lead but after the news about Megson I was not bothered United won.

Today I am still sorry Megson has gone but what done is done. Seems like a clash of egos and not really that surprising with all the speculation last few days. Looking forward to Saturday now. UTO!

I think it is an absolutely disgraceful decision.

I could understand if the wheels had well and truly fallen off, but despite a few disappointing results/performances lately, we're still on track for a decent season.

I know when Milan came to the club, he came with a reputation of hiring and firing managers, but after seeing that for several years at Hillsborough and it not really having the desired impact, well I was hoping those days were behind us.

I'm really looking forward to the Q&A session with Paul Aldridge now, should be an interesting event.

I've certainly lost a bit of respect for Milan and now wondering if he likes pigeons and is planning on opening casinos!!

Been a member for quite a long time but never post.

I am gutted that Megson has been sacked. I don't believe that anyone Milan brings in now for the rest of the season will give us a better chance of being promoted than Megson would have. He is also not going to find another manager who cares as much and is as passionate about this club. Megson made the players proud to wear a Wednesday shirt in my opinion, which has not been seen for a long time.

If he wanted to sack him he should have just waited til the end of the season.

I do however believe that Milan definitely knew before Sunday that he was going to sack him and simply didn't want to go into such an important derby match without a manager and his decision is not simply due to results.

Judging by the player's actions on Sunday I would say that they will also be gutted by this. I just can't see how decreasing morale in the players and the fans will help us achieve promotion with 13 games left to go.

I hope I am wrong though and we finish second (Will still be gutted it's not Megson leading us up to the Championship though)

A new manager isn't the answer.

Milan, I'm sorry, but you've made a mistake with this one.

Gutted for Megson, he didn't deserve this. Should at the very least had until the end of the season.

He made us into a team that the fans can believe in and made some fantastic signings.

What it comes down to is 'what the flip can anyone do about it, what's been done has been done everyone loves megson and know one wanted him to go but what's the point in going over the same subject all the time making up topics that know one gives a poo poo about'

Let's just take each day as it comes and give the team abit of support

I think the timing of Meggo sacking is very strange. I bet MM was cursing on Sunday when we beat the blunts. Whoever gets the job, and it looks like it will be Dave Jones, is going to be under huge pressure to get us promoted if it does not happen M M and whoevere is the manager will get a right slagging from the owls fans.

This hurts the most I think, although we should probably expect it with MM's trigger finger. For me 3 games doesn't make a season and Megson had the dressing room and Sunday showed that we could go on this season. I fear the worst with a new man having to come in and try and win over the dressing room and fans in 13 games.

I dont reply much on owlstalk but am a daily visitor. I wasn't surprised by the news last night because the rumours were already underway and megsons interview Sunday post match was subdued considering. I don't think it's right sacking him now especially with only 13 games to go. Progress in his time as manager has been significant. Hurts more because Gary like us loves the club. That said if Milan appoints quickly and said manager gets us up then thus will be quickly forgotten by most just like sturrock.

I think it is a very poor decision, but I have kind of been expecting something to upset the applecart, be it failure in play-offs or something else (this).

Not read the 1000s of other posts but I assume someone has speculated this could be a Dave Richards esqu revenge from Mandaric for Megson leaving Leicester for Bolton soon after being appointed?

I'll have a go!

Probably think much the same as most other people, think it's been inevitable over the last week or so but certainly don't agree with it. I'd been looking forward to a period of stability for a change!

I also think that were we genuinely looking for a new manager for the right reasons I'd be delighted with Dave Jones. Always left clubs in a far better state than he found them.

I also wonder a bit about Milan, and this is only conjecture, but I wonder if buying us given our situation with the HMRC was initially a way for Milan to curry some favour with any jury in his trial. Would be an expensive PR exercise granted but for a man with cash surely better than going to jail. We must surely already be worth more as a saleable asset now that when he bought us 12 months or so ago?

My only criticism of GM is that I think it's been difficult at times for him to suppress the fan in him and there must be times when he has to do this. Maybe some of this has spilled over into the boardroom? It must have also been a shock to him to be suddenly working with players on different wavelength to the ones he's most used to working with. That aside he's done a terrific job and should still be here now. We'd have all have been disappointed with that run of defeats anyway but it wouldn't have had the same reaction amongst fans had it not been that other lot directly above us in the league!

There you go, feel free to have a go!

I'm gutted. Was gobsmacked and instantly checked twitter/sky sports news. Couldn't believe it after seeing the 30,000 wednesdayites chanting his name, players celebrating with him on Sunday. I knew things would have to change after 4 losses, but I didn't think Milan would do that as beating UTD in a 'Cup Final' proves that Meggo had the ability to beat the team in SECOND place. I'll never understand this, atleast he's a wednesday legend for life, Left head held high. Don + gary megson, forever wednesday legends.

Disappointed. Megson was a manager to believe in, he was in it for the long haul and wanted to see this club back up the leagues more than anyone. And he knows how to get teams up the leagues. It may not have being pretty at times, but this is 3rd division football and it can work.

Results haven't been great, but who wasnt fully expecting a return to form over the coming weeks? We just beat the blunts ffs!

You do know what you're getting with Milan, but with 13 games left I have no idea how any other available manager can do a better job. Taking into consideration the spirit that we assume is around the changing room it can surely only go backwards?

If we were to capture the immagination and make a positive appointment I'd be happier, but Dave Jones is hardly inspiring. How long did it take for him to take Cardiff absolutely nowhere?

If you look at it from both sides, yes I feel sorry for Megson but if it wasn't for other teams around us drawing or losing their games in hand then most people would have probably been calling for Megson to go anyway.

I would have given him until at least the end of the season and a further season therefore giving him time to build a decent squad not only capable of winning league 1 but then acheiving promotion from the Championship.

Another side to the coin is would Megson have been able to attract the better players to the club? This is something i'm not sure of following the arrival of the current batch of lower league players.

But like I have mentioned in another thread. Who truthfully, who actually wanted Megson to get the job in the first place. I for one didn't. Did you?

Lets get behind the club and whoever is appointed the new manager and see what happens. Just another step on the rollacoaster that is SWFC.

UTO.

Few thoughts from an irregular poster.

13 games left is no time for a manager to put his stamp on the club or make much of a difference in my opinion. Would have been best sticking with GM, seeing how he does,

The least we would have got under meggo was a play-off spot and those games are all dependent on momentum at the time as blackpool, swansea etc have all shown before.

Would welcome jones or mccarthy, I believe both are on par with Megson in terms of achievements. Don't belive Mccarthy would entertain the idea of League 1 mind you.

Clark or Ince would be a great step backwards, both lack experience for me and have both achieved relatively little during their career, too early for them.

DiCanio would be great for passion however he has a set plan at Swindon which I believe he will carry out. he's won the last 10 league games on the trot, why leave success? He'll be managing a league 1 club next season
