Charles Clegg
Disgraceful behaviour from the Chairman. Megson had to do his work on a shoestring budget - a net transfer fee balance of £135K over 12 months was clearly insufficient to bag an automatic promotion spot and the Owls will really struggle for promotion at all now. Only McCarthy could get the best out of Megson's squad but it won't happen McCarthy is a man with a mind of his own. He won't let players shirk responsibility. He has integrity; determination; moral values & passion.HE HAS NO CHANCE! (too much like Megson)

gurujuan
Again what's with all the whingeing about Megsons budget How much do you think Stevenage have spent, or MK Dons or Huddersfield once you deduct the Pilkington fee? Even Charlton, according to their supporters, are still in credit. Megson was allowed to keep all his best players during the summer, has been given over half a million pounds in fees and the chairman has sanctioned numerous Premiership loans. Yes I would have liked the chairman to push the boat out as well but it's ridiculous to imply that the manager was handicapped by budget constraints
since59owe
At least MM held off til after the derby, I'm sure GM will rise again, pity it wont be with us, all my best to Gary IMHO he did well, just ran out of time.

airborne_rat_of_s6
Wow ! Is that all ??? What does he expect FFS? This decision ranks alongside Francis and Atkinson leaving. Very poor by the club - whilst GM was never my first choice from the start, I cannot see how this decision will aid our progress.
Liam_Baggies
Couldn't believe the news when I heard it last night. It was because of Megson I really joined up to the board and it came as a surprise when it was announced. I do wonder whether Mandaric had a score to settle from when Megson was at Leicester. He left to join Bolton after a couple of weeks. Either way, still unfair to sack a manager who has the backing of the players and fans. I'll still take a keen interest to SWFC, but I can't believe Mandaric would be so daft.

Charles Clegg
This talk of £500K that Megson spent - he spent £535K but this was offset by £400K in sales. Making out he was welll supported is well wide of the mark. Compare that to the money spent (and mainly wasted) by Irvine. Apparently Megson wanted to sign Mellor and Le Fondre pre-season and got nowhere.
pgmetcalf
I don't believe Megson would have got us promotion and more importantly, neither does Milan You can't say that though, you can't say he would have or he wouldn't.

Goatboy
Still in a state of shock over this. Just remember what a mess our team was in when GM took over. With virtually no money he has fashioned a cohesive team that is sitting 3rd in the league. He always behaved with professionalism and sincerity. Just want to say Gary, you are one of us. A true Wednesday fan. Thanks for what you did. You will always be welcome back. Please remember the fans didn't want this.
Guest hallows
Lets face it, We should be top of the league not 5 points behind 2nd having played a game more. Megson may be Wednesday through & through just like us but he has been disappointing given the number of players he has brought to the club. Madaric saved the club, he should be getting our support. What's done is done. Lets move on.

PolarNigel
Milan cannot win this battle. If we stay down, it's his fault for unsettling the team and making the wrong decision in sacking Megson. If we go up, then it's Megson's squad, which was on course to win promotion anyway. Dave Jones could poo poo in the middle of Brammall Lane and he'd still not have the same affection from the fans as Megson had.
Guest swfcadz
milan didnt give megson any money though so only he could do was bring loan players in megson deserved better than gettin sacked at this crucial stage of season this could be either a very very bad mistake or a good decision only time can tell we are still going to have the same players even when the new manager gets here its upto the players now to show what they are made of to take us up
