Guest wilyfox
All of those would walk into our current side - not that it is the best we have had for years! Shows what an achievement it was assembling that on pretty meger resources. i wouldn't say meager resources, exactly. Walker and Sinton cost us over £2m each; which was quite alot of cash for a player in the early 90s.
Guest phshaw
Gk: Ola Tidman RB: Ian Hendon LB: Jon Beswetherick CB:Ashley Westwood CB: Danny Maddix RW: Gary Teale LW: Danny Uchechi CM: Craig Armstrong CM: Aaron Lescott ST: Kim Olsen ST David Graham This is a really good attempt at the worst X1 in last 20 years. Bit harsh on Lescott though, personally thought Paul McLaren was worse than him and Barry-Murphy was pretty bad for us in CM.
Guest mcduk
Anyone picking a worst XI but not selecting Kim Olsen needs their eyes checking. And to think he replaced Grant Holt... To be fair he has averaged 1 goal in every 2 games everywhere he's played apart from at s6..............We seem to have a habit of making goalscorers lose the ability to hit the onion bag, saying that he was PANTS. jp1981
Can't believe no ones mentioned Peter Atherton. Hated him. Especially as captain. All he did was wave his arms up and down. No wonder Di Canio never passed to him.

No wonder Di Canio never passed to him. Atherton was a solid player for us; some decent performances for us at right-back, and the odd occasional holding role in midfield. Guest Rob Jackson
Chris Stringer Steven Harkness Ashley Westwood Steven Haslam Jon Beswetherick Owen Morrison Darryll Powell Darren Potter Petter Rudi David Graham Leon Knight you are deluded if you think rudi, morrison, haslam (who never really played centre half - his real position), chris stringer, and even Harkness are anywhere near the shittest

Rest of the squad cost very little - these two were the exceptions (£2.75 M each) - the big money additions once the ball was rolling. Walker was absolute class, shame Sinton could not continue the form which he had before he arrived. Well, I average half a dozen goals a game at my 5-a-side, but I'd probably be out of my depth up front for the Wednesday!

Simmo200
I can't believe the RB position is up for question, It has to be Patrick Blondeau. Beswestherick and Brian Barry-Murphy are nailed on. How anyone can include Powell though is beyond me, he did well for us and I'm sure we wanted to extend his contract.

Guest Distraught!
JOC would be captain. Would probably win four or five games on the trot (but have nothing to do with JOC of course).
Beholder
Would probably win four or five games on the trot (but have nothing to do with JOC of course). yeah and then when he leaves every dropped point could be attributed to his departure by his simpleton like cult of followers. TrickyTrev
you are deluded if you think rudi, morrison, haslam (who never really played centre half - his real position), chris stringer, and even Harkness are anywhere near the shittest It's all about opinions pal and that's mine. For the side he was in and the sort of money we were paying him Petter Rudi was shocking, he was just big and ran, no skill at all and extremely over-rated. Steven Haslam did play cent half for us and never before have I seen such a light-weight centre half, he made Lee Bromby look like Guy Branston. Owen Morrison, just look at how his career's progressed since leaving the owls, a poor player in a poor owls side. Chris Stringer was terrible, couldn't command his area, weak when going up for set peices and his kicking was all over the place, the only reason fans liked him was because he was 17 and his name sounded like Jerry Springer. As for Steve Harkness, probably the worst professional our club has had in my lifetime.
torryowl
though we've had some crap top-flight players i would guess our worst players would be from our 2nd / 3rd tier days ........so im going for .... barry watling jim craig john holsgrove gary hull ashley westwood (i know he wasnt a left back but it doesnt matter coz he was crap where ever he played ) mick kent bobby hope fred mcivor andy proudlove peter feeley kim olsson ......... Guest llshibby
I hate threads like this because it is bogus. What would be better would be to find the worst ever XI fielded rather than an amalgam of crap players from different eras. I was doing something similar for the England test XI yesterday (pleasures of being snowed in), far more satisfying to find an actual - rather than theoretical - XI. Also some listed players no way qualify for this 'accolade': Uchechi played three times or so... Haslam/Harkness/Rudi/Knight/Morrison are nowhere near the squad given the irredeemably awful Dean Smith, John Beswetherick, Kim Olsen, Chris Adamson (THE worst footballer I have ever seen live - maybe his confidence was just shot to poo poo?!?!?) and Ashley Westwood. Would also give Andy Pearce a dishonourable mention
