Loxley Owl
I thought that we gave too many silly fouls away in the first half. With out blue & white specs on, the ref got them pretty much all right. However, in the 2nd, I think the ref and linesmen were watching a different game to us and just seemed to flag or whistle randomly to give the ball back to them. Can't say that Otrsemobor did a great deal either. In the first half, all of Sflaphope's attacks were concentrated down out right. He kept leaving their left wing in space, and when he did get the ball back his distribution was slow.
Guest bigblue
COG, JJ, Semedo, Bywater, Otsemobor, Batth, Llera, Lines & Madine were all superb last night. Palmer was poor I thought. Contrary to earlier posts in this thread, I thought he had one of his worst performances rather than best. He's just a bit lightweight and wishy-washy at the moment. Last night was a tough game, against a set of dirty tvvats, so he was the wrong man for that job. He can clearly play though, and is obviously still young, so I'm sure he has a good career ahead of him. Roberts nearly signed for us just before AI left btw
Guest Johnbloodaxe
My ratings: Bywater - 7 - Once again looked assured, and had a relatively quiet evening. Jones - 6 - Went off fairly early on, but looked sound enough before that. Batth - 8 - He looked and played like he was 10ft tall tonight. Was strong, vocal, organised the defence superbly. He looks a captain of the future. Llera - 8 - Formed a very solid looking partnership with Batth. He seems to make defending look easy. Otsemobor - 7 - Much better aerially tonight, and looked solid enough. Palmer - 6 (7) - Failed to stamp any sort of impact on the game really. Looked a tad weak in the tackle at times, and failed to get forward in the second half. That may have been because Megson asked him to protect the frankly awful Beevers at full back. If that's the case, then he did a decent job, and can have a "7". Lines - 7 - Much better tonight than his performances have been of late. Got about much more, tackled well and worked very hard. Good delivery for COG's goal. Semedo - 7 - Once again, much improved from previous weeks. The magic Semedo was back. JJ - 8 - First half, things didn't go his way, but to his credit, his attitude was spot on. Continued to work hard and play for the team. Absolutely superb goal, and after that looked a constant threat when he got the ball. Madine - 7 - Got nothing once again from yet another poo referee, but I thought he linked up well with COG once again, and I can see them developing a good partnership (despite other people's doubts). Was strong thoughout and won his fair share in the air again. Outshone by the strike partner today though. COG - 9 - MOTM - A near perfect striker performance. The early goal obviously helped, but his performance was just like most of his displays since signing...but on over-drive. Very unlucky not to get a deserved hat-trick. A text book No. 9 display. Beevers - 4 - I know he's not a full back, but the application, the basics of defending just weren't there. How can a bloke 6ft3' continually be out-jumped by someone 6' shorter? Sflaphore didn't take long to target him as our weakness, and they looked a threat down their right hand side from that point on. Overall - A very confident, assured performance, that didn't ever really look in doubt. Sflaphorpe away has always seemed to be a bogey fixture for us, but we equipped ourselves very well today, and O'Grady's performance was superb. Despite a team selection that involved square pegs in round holes, and late alterations, it was an impressive display. You mean Sflaphorpe had a 3" player, that can't be right surely, I mean I know some players are short arses but 3" player it must be very dangerous for him.. but hell he must have a jump on him to outjump Beevers... This must be a record, were guiness book of records there, must be shortest player ever... Do they call him lofty?

Mav-erick
O'Grady was immense last night. Always available , running the channels , holding their centre half off the ball as he ran into the box. Took his goals well and should / could have had a hat trick if it wasn't for a brilliant save. He must have been knackered!! Baath was also superb , a proper no nonsense centre half. Strong in the tackle and won everything in the air. JJ's goal was class and loved the way he celebrated with the fans.
owlsdreamer
I know Beevers is not a full back but the guy had a torrid time after coming on. Cant even use lack of match practice as an excuse as he has just played 20 games for Dons. He really does remind of the old school and its time to ship him out permanently. Guest Bedders
Anyone see that studs up slide in tackle in front of the dug outs? I was in that little bit of the stand that they'd sold us as an afterthought so couldn't really see it as too near front? Just wondered if we'd been conned again with the ref....some saying another Vincent Kompany style tackle????? Couldn't really see so can't comment?
