legendaryswan
Didnt walsall play manure away in the cup 3rd round, about a week or 2 before this game and get rave reviews in all the papers for an outstanding performance, think they got a 0-0 draw. After a great start it just deteriorated, there was a few scurmishes inside the old fellows park, wylde scored and saluted the owls fans on 2 sides of the ground, the win would have put us 5th,they were about mid table. Guest one gary shelton
Yes Walsall had played Man Utd at OT the Week before and lost 0-1 after competing with them and as you say, getting rave reviews. It was two seasons before that The Saddlers held them at theirs then beat them 3-2 at Fellows Park. As you say Wednesday were doing well after something like a 8 game unbeaten Run. Walsall were third bottom, having a terrible season.

NYCOWL
Good that we don't need to hark back to the good old days to remember humiliations at the hands of tiny teams. Our present day squad has kindly provided us with a whole new set of miserable performances to dwell on…
