Spireite in Peace

As I now live in Ches Vegas and have a few good mates who are Spireites, I have developed a soft spot for the club, particularly as Shez is also one of my all time heroes

Wish you all the best for next season, as long as we're top, you are second and the Blunts are bottom, I'll be happy

Must admit, having attended your home game V Rotherham, it was one of the best footballing displays I've seen for a while but that wouldnt be difficult if you've seen us this season

John, one of my colleagues has a signed picture of the goal vs Man Ure that Shez banged in for the Rumbelows Cup, he'll end up managing at S6 without doubt.

I was a bit shocked at how poor Rotherham looked, we usually never show up against them but LeFondre and Taylor never looked in the game. Sat behind Ronnie Moore watching that was a laugh a minute.

With the ridiculously in form Brighton and probably Southampton out of the league, you'll be right up there, I can't see any other. Good to see Madine getting on, didn't really get chance to see his true potential last season (we had a squad full of journeymen mostly).

i'd include Preston in that list too, not too far to travel in the grand scheme of things when you look at some of the trips we have had to make this season.

Not forgetting Bournemouth!

can't wait for next season a whole 1 minute drive to the 'Been-2-better' stadium for me (and my soon to be done shezza tattoo) lol

Hope you're saving a special space for Mr. Megson!

Think yourself lucky you won't have to suffer Barnet or Macclesfield Town, and you've seen nothing till you've been to Accrington Stanley's place...

Another Northern Soul fan as well, always good to see! I'm a bit old to be a WUM, sorry if people feel a bit offended by my OP, I've had some great nights at Hillsborough and I wish you all the best next season. You're certainly a club that's too big to stay in L1, especially with some of the players you've got.

Still going strong, used to do Wigan and Cleethorpes in the 70's now its Pilsley, Metrodome etc. Never too old mate. There's quite a few other old soulies on here. With regards to the players I think you will find it will be a totally different squad we have next season as Meggo does a Rowdy Yates and "moves em out" and brings in his own players.

A fixture with Chesterfield carries nothing more than a fixture with Yeovil. It's not a derby, never has been and never will be.

Nottinghamshire clubs have always been our nearest, most bitterly hated rivals as far as I've been concerned, especially in my youth (I can just about remember those days). For many other reasons than football.

Indeed.

Seems to matter to some Chesterfield fans, but I can't seriously consider them a local rival.

Wrong flipping county for starters.

Many (I want to say misspent, but I'd be lying to myself) years were had at The Casino and Catacombs. Pleased it still carries on, although I doubt I'd be fit enough these days for another all-nighter

You can pretty much guarantee the town fans who would agree with you remember the 80's and the strikes. Chatting with most Owls pre-match at Hillsborough was never a problem, I'd never patronise a Nottinghamshire ground.
