As a kid,

Springett, McCalliog, Ford, Fantham & Megson

As a teenager,

Potts, Dowd, Prendergast, Craig, Wylde

As a (much) younger adult

Bannister, Varadi, Megson (Ginger Ninja), Shelton, Lyons, Chapman, Hodge and Sterland

In my thirties

Hirst, Bright, Sheridan, Nilsson, Hyde

Bloody 'ell I'm feeling old!

To provide some moral support for Utah

For me it was McCalliog, Springett, Craig, Joicey, Prendergast and Henderson

then there was Tynan and Hornsby and Turner

Jeff Johnson, Shelton, Hirst, Hodge

then I hit my 30's :ohmy::biggrin:

Thanks Edmonton, all yours would be on my list too, plus I forgot Andy Mac!

I was born to be unlucky at football

I can't remember 66 England or Wednesday

But I can remember 1970 and crying for both England and Wednesday

Heroes

Craig but especially Willie Henderson ( there was a night match where he left the field with his White socks covered in blood from hacked by some tw@t )

curran

zico

Chapman

Hodge

Megson

Then just about the entire early 90's team

Since then I have got old and Wednesday have been crap

David Hirst, but never actually got to see him live. Always injured, i had his name on the back of my shirt when me old man took me to my first game. After that it was Paul Warhurst for being a revelation at centre forward, then Kevin pressman for that penalty against Wolves, still not seen a pen with a more angled run up and so close in the top corner, Different class!

Those were the days when i used to watch teletext as well, anybody else do that!?

For me it was Zico, used to fly down the wing, permed locks flowing behind him, winning penalties and scoring penalties. Hard as nails, would put the oppositions winger in row z . Oh yeah and a Wednesdayite through and through. We had a lot of great players after mel had gone, but i think your first childhood hero stays with you .
