A sokesperson for The Wednesday today confirmed that the current situation of alternating home games between Highfields and Bramall Lane has to end. The Wednesday board of directors, it is believed are in advanced negotiations with LMR Corporation regarding the lease of a piece of land behind the Olive Grove sidings. The same spokesperson said he hoped that the 7 year lease with the Railway company landlord The Duke of Norfolk would be more fruitful than the previous arrangements at Bramall Lane and Highfields where often little more than 15% of the gate monies were retained after costs. £5K would have to be spent to get the area ship shape but it was envisaged the ground would be open for business at the start of the 1887 season in September.
