Owls launch Saturday Soccer School

Young Owls supporters can now spend their Saturday mornings brushing up on their ball skills and taking in the techniques used by their favourite players thanks to a new Sheffield Wednesday soccer school.

The club's Community Programme is hosting Saturday football sessions at King Egbert's School in Dore and there is something there to suit every young football fan.

There are mini Owls sessions for little supporters aged 3 to 5, junior kickers sessions for 6 to 11-year-olds and a goalkeeping master class for those 8 to 14-year-olds who want to follow in Wednesday number 1 Nicky Weaver's footsteps.

The sessions, held by fully qualified SWFC coaching staff, will take place between 10am and 11am on the school's Astroturf pitch and kids can turn up on the day and play for just £4.00.

Community manager Marcus Brameld said: "I am extremely pleased that we can now offer these new coaching sessions and I am very hopeful that we will see a lot of smiling young faces there bright and early every Saturday morning."
