No Its the National Anthem of England first and foremost, created when we were having a bit of a spat with them upstart jocks. It just so happens that historically England and Britain are effectively interchangeable. And its why the Scots Welsh and Irish sing different Anthems and we (the English) sing God Save the Queen. God Save the Queen? That will be the Queen of the United Kingdon of Great Britain and the Commonwealth. The Welsh, Scots, Australians and Canadians have the same 'right' as the English to sing God Save the Queen, but why to the English continue to sing it and assume it has anything to do with England???
