Thanks. I knew someone would post at least one correction.

BTW. I cut and pasted the list from the SWFC page on Wikipedia.

Lee Chapman's first game was August 25th 1984, yet on this pic there's no sponsor's name.

Was there a lull between Crosby Kitchens and MHS at some point?

Yes.

Crosby Kitchens ran from spring 84 to the end of the season I think. When we played in Division One (none of that Premiership nonsense back then) we changed the kit supplier to Umbro and were sponsorless again. I think MHS took over later in the season.

I remember getting that new Umbro kit for Christmas. It was all lovely and shiny, I loved it until the letters on the Umbro started falling off. Around Boxing Day.

 So true- i had the yellow & yellow stripy one!

It amazes me that some clubs, even nowadays, will go without a sponsor. Presumable because no one will pay what they want- surely anything is better than nothing or helping a local charity is even better than that!

Can't really remember the 80's but I seem to remember seeing picture of Wednesday shirts with Fly KLM on them. Or was that something else?

I wouldn't change it, stick with the SCH

Me too, though i'd try to find a second sponsor for the back or the shirt (if allowed - has to be worth investigating) such as a pharmacutecal company - summat linked.

I believe we are the only club to have had an original Salvador Dali picture on our shirts. Didn't he do the chupa chups logo?

he did indeed. I love the logo and the sponsorship - a true worldwide product.

I heard a rumour we almost did a deal to have Guinness on the shirts for that game (and teh following season), anyone else heard that?

Chuppa Chups - usual response was because either "your team sucks" (to be fair at the time we did) or (also true) "you get licked by everyone"

Typical Wednesday, cheap sponsors making us a laughing stock!

Hardly cheap sponsors! Easily the biggest company we've ever had take interest in Wednesday.
