M Royds
Just a clarifying fact before bed time.......administration does not NECESSARILY mean you lose your ground. It means the administrator sells the assets together or separately for the best price possible. Sometimes people will buy the ground (Bradford, Palace presumably, Leeds sort of) and sometimes there is more value in selling the thing lock stock (Southampton, Bournemouth) so it is slightly disingenuous to suggest that we will end up saddled in that way. But it is also wrong to say we can just enter admin and decide when we take the deduction - if we went in now but were relegated anyway, they would carry forward the point deduction to next season, we only get it this season if the difference between staying up and not is the 10pts, so it condemns us to going down with the potential for a -10pt start a la Saints next year. All in all, a very bad idea, even if it does scrub the debts (which is also morally wrong IMHO). Hi bills,Insightfull post.

Palace have taken a -10 this season regardless and Stockport last season were unnaffected by their -10 - at around the same time as Saints were in trouble whose deduction was carried over to this season

Miss it and it's up to the league when you get it. But we're not going in to admin until this C9S process is going on anyway, nor do I think we should (or will) anyway. Guest FatherTime
LISTEN, Lee is a boy from the cross, he has supported the owls all his life, he went to colley school, created a business, and made his millions, pure, well made, fortune, he reinvested his time, and some of his money in trying to save the club he loved. He fired a manager, one the fans liked, because he knew we were on a slippery slope(look at Burnley, its no coincidence) appointed a sought after manager(PNE made a mistake. and it was due to pollitics ie darren and his daddy and their major investor) we will survive this season, maybe because their are 3 worse clubs than us, and Palace will go down without warnock, but at the end of the day, we will still be a championship club come the 10/11 season, and re financing will follow, as will the push for promotion under AI, so stop the complaining, put a rod up your backs and stand straight. sheffield_dave
He fired a manager, one the fans liked Strafford was coming under A LOT of flack for not firing Laws 3-4 weeks before he perhaps should have. Redundant point.
DJMortimer
He fired a manager, one the fans liked, because he knew we were on a slippery slope(look at Burnley, its no coincidence) Yeah, because Burnley were going great before Laws arrived weren't they (1 win in the previous 12 in the Premiership) ? Bluesteel
While its amusing, as chairman of the club he could do without biting to petty remarks, however difficult it may be
Guest AnotherOwl
Nice one Lee. Keep up the great work. It's very much appreciated my 99% of us I'm sure. (The only oinkers I think we should be concerned with though are the ones at Radio Sheffield united, considering they can have a lot of influence over potential new SWFC fans.) MartinOwlMan
I'm right behind you, Lee. It is heartening to know our club has a Wednesdayite at the top, one who has proven himself to be a success in generating revenue and profits. I am also hugely grateful that you are so open with the fans. The point you make about administration is clearly a sensible one, and like Billsaja I am against that route from a moral point of view. It takes a lot for me to turn against our players, but the recent performances have been completely unacceptable. Whatever is going on behind the scenes, and the rumour is that some of them know they are out of a contract after the end of this season, they owe it to the 20,000 fans who turn up at Hillsborough who pay their wages to put an honest shift in. Most of the 20,000 are paid less in a month than the 11 are each paid in a week, but I think most of those who are working will be giving their employers a fair day's work for the money they are paid. What football manager at another club is going to employ someone they know to give up in the face of adversity anyway? On Saturday, around the time Reading scored their fourth goal, I renewed the season tickets for me and my wife. Hopefully this coming Saturday the players will find it in their hearts to give us a thank you by putting in an honest performance on the pitch: I don't care if we win or lose as long as I feel the eleven are competing on our behalf. Guest Johnbloodaxe
I'm right behind Lee, he has made some great decisions, some very tough ones e.g. Laws... and AI... BUT in my opinion has got ALL the major decisions right such as : Shirt sponsorship, not only very moral but also very shrewd business wise, World Cup bid, fan bloody tastic result.... Community Stadium.... wonderful and is the future for long term survival.... Laws gone... AI in.... How can you argue against any of these??? I am really pleased he comes on Owlstalk and Facebook and voices his emotions as a fan... Yes he may make emotional statements that need some clarification later, don't we all... This whole approach is part of the bigger picture re the furture of the club and ALL of the global mobile channels and support... THIS IS THE FUTURE OF OUR CLUB... We are ahead of the game on this AND it is all down to Lee... KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK LEE... IGNORE THE DOUBTERS... Now fingers crossed the players respond and keep us up... and subsequent investment arrives...

All that's great but at the moment i couldn't give a rats ass about any of it - all i care about is keeping the club in the division. that's the way the vast majority of the fan base view it in my eyes. g-owls
Just because the Chairman is a die-hard Wednesdayite, does it make it right that he see's fit to bite to any Tom, wee pipe or Harry on social networking sites? And by the way, what does selling a business you started from scratch for millions have to do with running a football club, the very same football club who appear to be flat on it's arse where it really matters.. results on the pitch. But we're not going in to admin until this C9S process is going on anyway, nor do I think we should (or will) anyway. Stockport went into admin with one game remaining last season and were immediately docked 10 points - meaning they needed a draw in their final game to ensure they avoided the drop Saints went into admin a month before that and their deduction was witheld pending the outcome of their season - if they had avoided the drop then they would have lost the points that season to relegate them - because they were relegated anyway the punishment was held over Very abitrary ways of dealing with 2 similar situations happening at similar times

Why is n't that gonna happen to Palace if they went down despite the -10??

scram
It's to do with when they go into admin apparently But that doesn't go close to explaining how Stockport lost their points immediately and were left 3 points above the drop zone with one game of the season left Saints went into admin a month before that and were told their points would be lost to either relegate them - or start this season on minus
