Guest Deleted member
I walked out on the 90th minute as I couldn't even summon the enthusiasm to boo the players on the final whistle - but I understand they came over to clap the fans and didnt receive a good reaction. There were people on our bus disgusted that they came over. Did anyone witness it?

horny owl
They deserve a pat on the back when playing well. And deserve the wrath of the people who pay their wages when they dont. They would have got the rods off me if i was there, spineless money grabbing to$$ers.
owllincoln
Yeah we stayed to the death. It wasn't pretty, there was a chant of you're not fit to wear the shirt and lots of boo's the 3 players who came closest were spurr as usual and miller / macca. Felt sorry for them 2. It's awful to hear but they deserved the stick they got.

Danish
They deserve that negative reaction. I would hope it would give the players the kick up the backside they need, but I know better.
FAT OWL
As I mentioned in another thread, what got me was the fact that some of them looked surprised that they were being booed
Guest BigDave
I applaud anybody that managed to stay till the end, i went after the fourth, probably a good thing because the way i was and still am feeling i would have got thrown out A disgrace to the shirt, i would like to know what some players are thinking this morning and how many actually care about the game Edited February 28, 2010 by BigDave

There were people on our bus disgusted that they came over. Did anyone witness it? We stayed to the end, it was a case of damned if they do , damned if they don't. If people took it as a thank you for turning up and suporting the team then the players should do it regardless of the result. The players who don't think they gave 100% yesterday should be offering part of their weekly pay back to the club and saying sorry to the club and the fans. Maybe if enough are honest enough it will give us sufficent funds to bring in a loan player to make a difference. We seem to be lacking players like Bullen, Lyons,or Pearson who play with heart! Guest bigandy
I stayed to the end yesterday and to be honest I thought the players got off very lighlty. They were given more stick at Leicester than yesterday and for me yesterday was a worse performance. There was a small chant of 'You're not fit to wear the shirt', alot of booing and swearing, but christ they deserved a lot more. This team is probably the worst I've ever seen in a Wednesday shirt. They are not bad individually but as a team and as players who give a damn they are an absolute disgrace. They should all refund every single fan that went yesterday. The only players that seem to give a throw are Beevers, McAllister and Hinds, the rest can roger off cos I never want to see a performance like that again

MotherGoose
I've never been to an away game like that before (I didn't go to Leicester - so can't comment on that) I've never been to an away game where I sat down for 45 minutes - normally Wednesday fans have an defiance about them when we're away that we never give up on the team - different today. Sad.
blueandwhitematt
I stayed til the end so I could personally boo all the fvckers off, how any had the cheek to try and clap after that 'effort' (bar Macca and maybe Miller) I will never know. Don't care if it hurt their feelings, it hurt my wallet going all the way down there to witness that. The very least all us that travelled down yesterday deserve is an apology/statement from a member of that team yesterday, probably JOC seeing as he was skipper. He's not the main problem though, its people like Clarke, Tuday et al who aren't interested, and Hinds, Spurr and the rest that aren't anywhere near CCC standard. happy bunny
they need to face up to their responsibilities they signed their fat contracts and mugged the club into believing they were honest men the fans deserve much better, i am so annoyed with the acceptance of the weekly wage when their end product is so poor (or none existent) there are tough questions that need answering, starting with people like jeffers what a disgrace that he can stand by and collect his pay whilst delivering a big fat zero

rawowl
It's not difficult to run around the pitch like a headless chicken (Robbie Savage style) just to get the fans on your side & even rev the other players up. Kick one of their players up the arse early on and show some passion. For me it just shows the players heads are not set on a relegation battle & dont care if they are here next season in L1

Surely no-one is impressed by the players (of any club) clapping in a disingenuous way (with their eyes in the middle distance) I wouldn't like to suggest what the players are *really* thinking.............apart from getting on and reading their bank statements. At the end of a Bundesliga game the players go over to their fans, hold hands, wave them above their heads and actually make eye contact. Over here it's a few limp over the shoulder claps, a swig of water, and TTF that's another game over with - where's me money? sheffield_dave
I stayed til the end with the sole intention of letting them know just what I thought of their non-performance. Clearly there were many who did the same. A couple of people near me through their scarves away in disgust.. perhaps not quite up their with season ticket throwing in terms of showing frustration but is along similar lines. It wasn't pretty, although as someone mentioned above I thought they got off lightly with that. Like i said in the "Absolute Disgrace" thread, that was the worst performance I have ever witnessed from a Sheffield Wednesday side, and that includes the season when we escaped relegation to League Two by 3 points. They were an absolute p*sstake yesterday.. a complete embarassment and a complete disgrace. It was almost like a personal "flip Off" to the supporters who made the trip down yesterday. To be fair the 2 or 3 players who acknowledged the supporters at least had the face to take the fans frustration. The usual suspects just toddled off down the tunnel like they couldn't care a less. With abit of luck those same people.. such as that silly fat flip Leon, will never get the opportunity to drag this club through the dirt again. I'd rather give the kids a go and watch us lose every game between now and May with abit of fight than watch that obese waste of air disgrace this club and it's supporters like that again.
