True Grandad.

remember when Burnley wanted him and everybody was issuing hands off warnings etc....

Good old hindsight eh..... The hand with the 1.5m offered would be severed, not just bit off!

Nah it was just us folk who dared say get rid of the one season wonder that got something bit off.

Easily the most over rated player in this league by a country mile.

In the optimism of the summer though, after we'd had a solid season with a player in Tudgay that looked to have developed into a real assett, no one in their right mind would have wanted to dismantle the nucleus of the side.

I remember the general consensus being that if he was to be sold then we needed it to be for enough money to really help the rest of the team, rather than a poultry 1.5 million.

There would have been hell on if he had been sold and at the time getting him to say looked like a sign of intent.

The whole team has failed to perform this season, not just Tudgay.

Have to agree there.

The like's of Spurr, Potter, Gray also have been major disapointment's yet seem to keep there place.

Some player's need a MASSIVE kick up the arse.

The player who is leading us in goals and assists while providing our best aerial threat in defence and attack should be amongst the last ones we consider dropping.

But much of his good work seems a very long time ago. As previously stated, his 2 goals against Peterborough are the only times he's found the net in the last 20 games. That record is right down there with the worst spells of Andy Booth, David Graham and Lee Peacock. In fact, even Mark Crossley managed 1 goal in 19 appearances for us a couple of years back.

yes he isnt playing well at the moment

but do you honestly think Modest is going to do any better?

Maybe not (and it should be noted that there are other options than Modest) but at the very least dropping him might give him a kick up the arse as many seem to think he believes he's an automatic selection, regardless of performances.

tudgay is and can be a decent cc striker, i agree we should have sold him for that money in the summer, he will never be a 20+ goalscorer, but thats not his qualities, if we had a half decent strike partner or most importantly a forward thinking midfield, we might have a decent option going forward, as it is we have 3 seperate styles that don't work together.
