Guest trusty_left_peg
I would guess Derby, rumours they need to raise 8m by the end of the month! Good shout, aren't all their players up for sale? Clough's had a thankless task there. I'd say either them or Cardiff, Dave Jones has been speaking in the press this week about a need for the club to be taken over and for funds to be made available. Guest thetruthisoutthere
Firstly, this is NOT about Wednesday (wrong section I hear you cry!) but about another Championship Club. Came accross some info during my line of work regards the iminent financial demise of another club, and I really want to post the info on their forum to let the fams know whats going on, even though I probably shouldn't. If I want to share the info that badly when it's not even my Club involved, I can sort of start to see why people would come on here and share what they have heard about Wednesday. I guess I'm saying I can see the otherside of the "ITK Coin", and I have a tiny bit more understanding for the people who think they are ITK and get "taken in" by something. (I don't forgive the FUDDERS though!) Is the incorrect spelling of "fans" a clue and are you trying to point us towards the Rams ??????? Derby county it is then Although i thought Palace or Plymouth are stronger candidates If living in dream land it is worth noting that Mr McCabe has booked a session on radio pig later this week oooooooooooooohhhhhhhhh

Guest tomarkley
I think the club it is have a player on their books who is a very big prospect and could well be sold for a big amount of money. If they have to do this to satisfy the Tax Man, and thus avoid the 10 point deduction, I'm sure they will. Which means the 7/1 on offer for them to go down hardly looks appealing with the chances of a 10pt deduction being slim..?

I got 9/1 and I think they will get hit with a 10pt deduction
TrickyTrev
Listening to FH tonight could it be the dingles? According to the font of all knowledge that is Seth Bennett, they're losing around £3m to £4m every year.
Guest tomarkley
Betdaq are doing 19/2, Betfair are going 8.2. I'd want 10's myself, considering Real Madrid amongst others are looking at their star striker..

Russy
Guardian now have story about Notts County needing 2mill by wednesday That has been known for a while. There was supposed to be an announcement on Friday but all that was that there would be another announcement late Monday, but that has been mentioned yet. Not looking good for them. Sorry just seen this - Discussions at advanced stage Notts County have tonight issued the following statement: Discussions are at an advanced stage to secure the required investment. Executive Chairman Peter Trembling and Director of Football Sven-Goran Eriksson have been in London today to bring these discussions to a conclusion. We are fully aware of and sympathise with the frustrations and anxieties of our supporters during what has been a difficult time. Genuine progress is being made with the investment parties and we remain extremely confident that the requisite investment will be secured to ensure that the club can meet all its financial obligations. As we have stated previously, we are endeavouring to condense an investment programme that would ordinarily take several months into a matter of weeks. We are extremely close to completing our discussions and hope to be in a position to make a positive announcement tomorrow. LoOn
There's going to be one or two ships with damaged hulls the point is that if all they get is a 10 point deduction it may not be a big enough deterrent for others in a similar financial predicament
Max
There's going to be one or two ships with damaged hulls the point is that if all they get is a 10 point deduction it may not be a big enough deterrent for others in a similar financial predicament Surely the punishment for administration has to be far more flexible - you can't just have a massive "deterrent" in every case, that's not how administration always works. Regardless, the problem is more about why clubs go into administration rather than that they do. Shouldn't the governing bodies be spending far more time trying to reduce the need for clubs to overspend in order to achieve (say, by reducing the gap between the PL and the FL), than just trying to batter clubs who are sometimes legitimately struggling? While i agree with the essence of that - i don't think the answer is to give the CCC clubs more money It'll end up in the player's pockets anyway so nothing changes. The problem is that players who are really very mediocre get paid way above their talent - perhaps players and agents need to be educated that the gravy train has ground to a halt and the silly money for average players is no more.
