What Price would be acceptable for Grant?

Recommended Posts

I'd give it up - it doesn't seem to compute with many fans no matter how many examples you give them

Grant's ex team-mate, Lee Camp (who is currently receiving the rave reviews of CCC keepers) has amassed £400k in fees during his career - obviously Grant himself was free

It goes without saying there's no point selling Grant (whatever the fee within reason) if there isn't a plan in place

Did the sudden review on the clubs OS of our young Reserve keeper not worry you ..? Could that be the plan..?

Camp's having an excellent season but he can be utter poo at times.

We need to get a keeper of decent quality for little outlay if we sell Grant, none of this lower league potential poo , he must have played at least 50 times or so in his career (like Murphy, Lee etc) there's only really the likes of Smithies at Hudders that is earning regular good reviews below the Championship and he is valued at £2m

If teams in the Premiership are seriously interested in Lee Grant then we should be asking for £5M and be willing to accept about half of that, with a couple of add ons.

£2.5M with say another £500K after X amount of appearances would be acceptable IMO.

We should remember, anything we get for him is profit seeing as though he signed on a free.

The main question is whether keeping Grant is worth the fee we would have recieved for him.

How much is he worth in your opinion and what price would you be happy with if we had to let him go.

Id love him to stay but everyone has a price so whats yours?

5 magic beans - and even then we'd be ripping them off!

would like anyway around £3,000,000 wouldn't be too pleased if he was to go for less than £2mill

what he said - things are just picking up so why sell him unless it we get someone better

No point discussing how much we should sell grant for .Because we will never know in this mysterious world of transfers ,the transfer fee is always quoted as undisclosed. So we will never know whether a player as been sold on the cheap or how much the manager SHOULD HAVE HAD to spend on possible signings.

If we are going to sell Granty, then taking into account, Age x Potential x Contract i wouldn't accept anything less than 2.5m.

2m in cash, with a season loan for Tom Soares with an option to buy for about 500k.

With 2m to spend i would then look at one of the Keepers below as a replacement -

Joe Lewis - Peterborough

Joe Murphy - Sflaphorpe
