Guest wilkotheowl Posted January 12, 2010 Share Posted January 12, 2010 Apologies if this is old news already, but just seen in todays Daily Mirror that Luke Varney is supposed to have been Alan Irvines first signing, on a season long loan from Derby after Nigel Clough agreed to his returning to Hillsborough.I personally hope his commitment & effort is infectious on the rest of the team & he DID score in his last game v. Newcastle.As Clough is stated as wanting a new striker & "wanting rid of several under performers after a pitiful campaign" perhaps we can nick Paul Dickov as well as he is another experienced, passionate player who could really help us in OUR pitiful campaign (so far) !!?? He's one of those players who's made a lot out of not a lot and he's done it through grit and determination, or at least that is how it comes accross.
