The Lovely Bones" centers on a young girl who has been murdered and watches over her family - and her killer - from heaven. She must weigh her desire for vengeance against her desire for her family to heal.

Good reviews so far, looks depressing as flip though. Watching this tonight.

The book was brilliant. Read it in 2 days on a beach in Fuerteventura. It still has sand between the pages...

An enjoyable and sometimes beautiful film. The negative reviews are the usual people grumbling on about the use of graphics in film, for me it wasn't a problem. The story was fairly solid, a few flaws and underdeveloped characters. I didn't really feel the families pain or any real connection between the parents. At times Mark Spudberg felt very plastic, as if he'd just somehow stumbled into the role...similar to some extent with the mother. Had there been more development and connection with those two characters I think I would have felt the revenge/agony, but I hardly felt any.7/10.........could have been brilliant.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Extremely good read, and very touching and sad. The backstory as to how Alice Sebold came to write it is a story in itself.
