  1. Was in the home end behind the goal, so opposite end to most wednesday fans. In fairness they were singing quite a bit where I was, mainly about hating Spurs, or Spurs' lack of trophies recently. Towards the end there was a chant of "you've had your day out, now f**k off home" which made me chuckle. Could see Tango's moobs from 100 yards away.
  2. Remember that one, he took a right beating. After about 40 seconds of the match
  3. Following on from the thread when we've sat in the home end at away grounds, does anybody have any tales of opposing fans in the home stands at Hillsborough? I can remember an odd one, we were at home to Gillingham, and there were three Gills fans next to me in the North Stand. It just seemed quite odd as there were about 300 in the away end, so it wasn't sold out! Also one was a woman, so I can't imagine they were a bunch of banned hooligans! Just seems very odd that you'd actively choose not to sit with your own fans. They did score too, and it was a sort of mumbled 'yes' from them. Weird!
  4. 3-3 at Brentford. We were 3-1 up with 10 minutes to go. Was sat next to the world's biggest Brentford fan, who kept asking me about players, formations etc. Managed to blag it with a mockney accent until the equaliser went in, all the Brentford fans around me were in hysterics. In the home end on Sunday!
  5. So, let's look at how much this COULD raise. If we have 20,000 season ticket holders, but 5,000 are kids, then you have 15,000 people that will be interested (in theory). Obviously there are prices for different stands, so i'll use the North/Grandstand price as the average. If 15,000 people all bought a five year package at £2,775, that would raise £41,625,000. What would (just over) 40 million pounds buy us in today's market. You'd probably get three very good players and maybe have enough left to cover their wages for the length of the contract. And that's it. Regardless of the fact these players could (and probably would knowing our luck) get injured, would three players make that much difference to our team? Also, there's no guarantee they'd be any good. It's a massive throw of the dice - at best.
  6. So club 1867 was based on us getting into the premier league, but we were only interested in staying in the Championship?
  7. FT won 0-1. Again more possession for Burnley but we weren't threatened that much. Thorniley was excellent at the back. New lad Damba put himself about well but was chasing the ball a lot. Borukov came on second half, and looked impressive. Our keeper looked quite composed too.
  8. Half time Burnley 0-1 Owls. Hughes with the goal after around 20 mins. Burnley upped the ante after our goal but apart from one good chance, we've restricted them to long range efforts
  9. Teamsheet attached, hope that works. Very wet over here
  10. There will be a replay if it's a draw. Was on OS the other day.
  11. SYP couldn't run a wee wee up in a brewery!
  12. Really hope it's not Monday...I go on holiday that morning

  14. Would love Barcelona away 1962 but it's the price tag I'm struggling with
  15. Mods, feel free to shift, wasn't sure which section. There is a football programme and memorabilia fair tomorrow at the Victoria Hotel in Sheffield. 11:00 to 14:00. £1 entry and free for under 16's (don't shoot the messenger!) Apparently it is bigger than previous years with at least a dozen different stalls.
  16. It will be interesting when the likes of Abdi leave. No doubt a few of them will have their say on the goings on. When does this guy's contract finally expire anyway?
  17. With Chris Turner stood next to him!
  18. Good to see that we're all Wednesday...unless you're a better fan than someone else.
  19. Don't get why people would wear a football shirt to a cricket match
  20. 40k a week? There might be one sauntering around the pitch for Norwich
  21. Great post. For all the huffing and puffing, dem blavdes didn't really have a clear cut chance (penalty aside) until Billy's free header after 92 minutes.
