  1. Yes, I live not too far away in Spain but will go into Gib if there's signs of a gathering. I've heard there are a quite a few Wednesdayites in the area but I've only recently moved here so I don't know anymore than that. Do you know which pub/bar they usually gather?
  2. This isn't a criticism but perhaps incredibly we finished on 58 points in our first season back in the Championship 2 years ago under Dave Jones, just 1 point less than we have now.
  3. I don't know the full details but Im aware of the stadium being used against further loans. As you know I loathed the last regime as much as you did, but I don't think even this happened under them.

  5. Quick question are under 2 year olds free? Probably going to take my nephew (poor bugger).
  6. True. We are Wednesday and hardly in a position to be choosers. For me personally I am happy with a man that has put so much money into the club and who is also developing it nicely off the pitch. I'll take the rough with the smooth.
  7. I appreciate the unsavoury nature of this whole affair, but a lot of us are not being very open minded about it all and letting sentiment (and a derby victory) get in the way of objectivity. We just don't know what has gone on behind closed doors and are only hearing one side of the story. Lets not forget that Manderic has been professional enough to not to discuss personal matters in public. Lets also not forget the way Megson left Leicester to join Bolton after Manderic fought tooth and nail to keep him - based on this a lot may have been surprised that Manderic even hired Megson in the first place. Yes, the dismissal may have been personal, but it takes two to tango and Megson is hardly a shrinking violet.
  8. Course I don't believe it, I was just making a broader point.
  9. Im not going to judge Jones or Di Canio, I respect Di Canio for being a what you see is what you get type of man..
  10. Take it you wouldn't want Jones then with his past? I mean where do you stop?
  11. Judging from his time a Swindon so far he seems to be a pretty good tactician in addition to the obvious fact that he's a one in a million motivator. This man's passion and charisma is unique and unrivalled. Wednesday would become more interesting and attractive overnight if he was appointed. He got his fair share of contacts too, here, as well as abroad. Wednesday always go for the 'safe' and 'boring' option. I hope this time we don't.
  12. To those who are genuinely acting fickle, then yes I agree with you. But its a fact the on Megson's appointment there were plenty on here who simply didn't agree with the footballing direction the club took on making the appointment. I don't think its fully vindicated to have a go a these fans.
  13. Completely agree with this. Even the lower leagues such as league 1 compared to just a few years back are almost unrecognisable in terms of the amount of teams who now actually play football. My mother was very disappointed when Megson was first appointment. I couldn't understand why at first, she accused him of being a long ball 80's manager and a bit of a jack the lad who when things didn't work out would shout louder and if that didn't work, shout loader still. I hope Megson proves me wrong but Im starting to lose faith.
  14. Well I guess the last time Wednesday went down the eccentric route was probably Big Ron. I'd be all for Di Canio if Megson went. We don't always have to be conservative.
  15. I do agree, but still think we could, and have done better to reach our full efficient potential.
  16. Correct me if Im wrong but we haven't come close to having a manger with these such abilities since Turner (arguably his only quality admittedly) and Sturrock. Brunt, Whelan, Bougherra, Simek, Llyod Sam, Agbonlahor, Kenwyne Jones, Alex Bruce plus a couple more I've missed out, even Bullen to throw in a bit of experience - They've all gone onto better things. What these 2 would have done with a transfer kitty makes me feel like Manderic's money could be so much better used. Sadly we've just had mangers since then who appear to sign either journeymen or players who 'everyone already knows about' and who 'other clubs are in for', and what happened to these players from the foreign leagues we were suppose to be looking at? I personally wish we could just have a genuinely intelligent football manger again. I'd really love Gus Poyet to be our next - true its not going to happen though.
  17. Well I know its stating the obvious but yes what would work is for a significant number of people not to attend the games. The most effective protest there is. By attending people simply keep the current board in place.
  18. Yes, the French had a revolution I guess! My Fenerbache supporting turkish cousin is even more shocked at our tolerance and lack of voice than even we are!!!!
  19. Having witnessed the 2004 Black Balloon protest it saddens me that 6 years on most (not all) of our fan base still sits back and does nothing, happily clapping away at every rare opportunity. The writing was on wall back then that unless there was change, we weren't going anywhere. Even after promotion in 2005, you were left thinking - 'well now what'? Today at the stadium there should have been full blown anger and protest directed at the those people who still linger, instead what did we get? Pathetic.

  21. Bates' £10m equity suddenly appears amazing doesn't it?!
  22. How exactly, we'll prob be in admin soon anyway, allowing even more scope for dodgy investors to come in and buy the club and the really cheap this time. Could, might, - that had been the Wednesday way for years - too scared of change. With Wednesday fans it seems that to trust anyone you have be that person!
  23. ...and I don't trust the current lot (based on experience as well and not scepticism!!!!!!!!) Unfortunately there seems to be too much of the old Sheffield Parochialism coming through once again.
