  1. He’ll go through the motions and nothing more. He knows he’s getting into the Wales World Cup squad even if he played 45 minutes a week for Merthyr Tydfil between now and November. There’s no chance he’s going to risk getting himself injured, and what better way than going to Los Angeles, getting paid a handsome amount, running around a bit whilst improving a clubs profile. He’ll spend more time on the grass of the golf course than the football pitch. A great player who deserved the move to Madrid and the honours that followed, but it just seemed to stop dead in its tracks. He didn’t even look bothered when coming back to Spurs.
  2. City and Liverpool the two to beat again, but Conte is stamping his mark at Spurs and they’d be a good bet to finish third. Chelsea fourth, Arsenal and United making up the top six once more. Bournemouth and Fulham will struggle. I can see Forest staying up. Cooper is a very good coach and I wouldn’t be surprised if they manage to pull some interesting signings between now and the start of the season. I can see Southampton having a bad season. They’ve had a tendency in recent years to have a good run followed by an even worse one. That won’t last forever, and with a younger looking squad it could be very tough for them if they don’t get points early on. With a bit of luck we’ll be playing Leeds again the following season.
  3. Norwich and Verona probably my favourites so far.
  4. Its their fault apparently. They would normally try to blame Forest but they were too busy on winning every week.
  5. One of parents at my daughters school (Originally from Sheffield) is good friends with Gregory. A couple of weeks back he was telling me that Gregory is loving it at Hillsborough and being back in Sheffield, and despite being a blade loves our fans and how they’ve taken to him. The bottom line is that Lee Gregory has no plans on leaving.
  6. Does Scotland count?! If so, I’ve been to Celtic three times.
  7. Note to the club.. Its category not catergory
  8. Bonus points if anyone can make a song out of his full name… Michael Uzoukwu Absalom Jude Ihiekwe
  9. Derbymiller. Is he/she ok today? Does he have a partner? Is he/she ok? Are there children involved? Pets? Hope the poor kid gets all the help obviously needed.
  10. When he first came into the side I thought he looked very promising. That game against Arsenal being a case in point. Big crowd, big game, he handled it all with maturity. The problem he had was having Westwood in front of him. After that breakthrough season the club should have loaned him out for the entirety of the 16/17 season as by that stage Dawson was on the verge of coming through. Who knows, it may have helped his development more if he was featuring every week at that age of his career. Anyway, good luck to him.
  11. I remember that one. It was on a friday night and the game itself was more like a cup tie than a friendly. The worst one I can remember watching was against Stoke in 2011. Padraig Amond played on trial. Ended 0-0 I think.
  12. Scott Carson Michael Hector Michael Bischoff Danny Batth Jack Hunt Joey O’Brien Alex Lopez Ross Barkley Joe Bennett Kenwyne Jones Gary Hooper
  13. Only a matter of time before Mike Ashley comes in and buys them. He’s played the long game, not gone looking for the limelight and that patience will pay off. He’ll get it cheaper. Love him or loathe him, Ashley won’t have Derby languishing in league one for long.
  14. Brilliant for Grimsby. I was at their game at Notts County and the way in which they won that convinced me that they had their name on promotion. The 5-4 win at Wrexham, with another late winner was something from Roy of the Rovers. Going behind in the final only to win with a goal inside the last ten minutes. Someone up above must have looked down on them favourably in the last few weeks.
  15. I’m not denying that. Developing your own players is crucial. But the point I’m making is that loans can work.
  16. I see this playing out like the Michael Hector saga. Will he? Won’t he? Harlee Dean will probably end up signing for Burnley as a back up, then get injured in the first round of the league cup and be out for months and everyone will forget we ever had him.
  17. Four of Forest’s starting eleven in the play off final were on loan. Garner Zinckernagel Spence Davis
  18. I wanted them to win last night. Simply because it would have set up a tasty home nations winner takes all game. Good luck Wales.
  19. When a club who’s been rubbish for years (Everton) has far greater revenues than one of European footballs most iconic clubs (Ajax) you know there’s something wrong. Half a billion to avoid relegation as opposed to a club that not only produces incredible talent but also recognises talent from lesser clubs to buy, improve and sell on for huge profits. The amount of world class players who either started with them, or arrived there before going onto bigger things is staggering. But what does that matter, they can’t even compete with Brentford when it comes to paying wages.
  20. The problem we have with society is that no one is prepared to admit they are wrong. Thousands of people converging on a stadium without tickets is irresponsible, do they not realise that by that action alone they are causing more congestion? A police force may have gone over the top with its reaction, but it’s a reaction that’s caused by both criminality and stupid laddish behaviour.
