Yep. He was doing a good job up there last season. Somehow managed to get most fans on his side after the absolute love fest for Benitez the Geordies have.

I know many Newcastle fans. Not one liked/s him.

  2. For me, it blends with the whole structure of the club as people have said above...

Most academics are not profitable. We do not necessarily need to "waste" money on the academy...

However, if some of that supposably £350m was spent on a new training facility, I think that would have had a positive knock on effect for the academy

No brainer, learn your lesson, go and get him DC and ket him manage without interference from above.

He's exactly what this club needs, a no nonsense winner just like Charlton and Wilkinson who picked this club up by the scruff of it's neck and put us firmly back on it's feet.

Like he did at Derby, or the Belgium club?

So not even a bully, just accusations of being a bully.

Last thing we'd want is a red blooded male running things, better a lady or someone who's been castrated.

Yes. A red blooded male is the key requirement. It's goes before anything else..cos....to throw a famous phrase in here "they would not have gotten away with those performances with..."

he lasted 5 months at Watford before being sacked as they were 2 games from relegation .

lasted about the same at derby where he was a disaster

Sacked by a second division Belgium club as they plunged downwards.

He is trading on admittedly strong work in two spells at Leicester.

I am no fan of Paul cook but I would certainly have him over Nigel pearson.

Has also had accusations of being a bully all over the national press.... Plus grabbed the neck of a player.

But he did play for us, so that makes him a success...you know, like Wilson and Turner

  6. Question.... If he hadn't had played for us in the early 90s, would you want him or class him in the same bracket as Monk etc?

Also, I still can't get over the "don't worry about me, I can handle myself" comment he made when that player fell into him a few years ago. What an odd thing for an adult professional the say!

  7. For me, I feel he could be the next KPS, just comes in and gets it!

A lower manager who has never "failed". Surely that is better than someone who have managed in the premiership and is on the manager merry-go-round (pulis, monk, Pearson etc)

  8. Do we know what went on among these two and the reason for being banished to the youth squad?

If for example, he was damaged there for something he had done/Cook thought he'd done, then there might be issues (IF Cook gets the gig).

However, he might have been placed there because he wanted to leave Wigan, and then surely new club, new start for both?

    3 clear favourites for manager.

    1) Joey Barton

    2) Paul Cook

    3) Neil Thompson

Fml, is this the level we have sunk to, the most appealing one there has been a manager in the lower leagues most his managerial career and achieved precisely fuckall hence why he has been a lower league manager.

Fink has drifted to 20-1 and  my enthusiasm has gone the same way.

What a time to be a Wednesday fan.

And you want?..... (Not that I want Barton anywhere near this club)

All these creaming themselves over Cook will be screaming for his head by the end of the season. He would be a terrible appointment. FFS can’t we think outside the box for a f***ing change? Viera or Fink for me.

Viera?!  What's he done as manager?
