  1. North West In between Blackburn & Burnley. So not mega far, but they'll be on road by now.
  2. Come on ref ffs, I need to know whether I'm going to Hillsborough or going home!?
  3. Briscoe and Spurr on the good list but no Lewis Buxton? Worst for me would be Beswetherwick.
  4. Champions League and Europa League postponed https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51870540
  5. Best half time we ever had was when they had people racing up and down the pitch in Zorbs. #GiZorbsBack
  6. I'd stick an extra CM in to stiffen us up, get Bannan further forward and not bother with Matias Dawson Palmer Lees Thorniley Penney Hector Onomah Reach Bannan Forestieri Fletcher
  7. This. Didn't see owt wrong with what he said pre-match either, he said we've been playing poo, especially the defence. Which is true. Struck me as a rare occasion when a pundit had actually seen us play before commenting.
  8. Chansiri did say at last forum/Q&A that we'd rejected offers in the summer, but didn't say who for. If we rejected offers for players who weren't in the managers plans then that's just clown shoe incompetence.
  9. 1. Probably not, and I've got nothing against Dawson/Wildsmith, but I do think the loss of a number of experienced players is part of our defensive issues, and it's annoying that some of those are self inflicted wounds. 4. I always liked Fessi wide in a 4-4-2 when Carlos did it to chase a game, and if we'd got the midfield beast we've needed for last few years I might still advocate it, but since Jos doesn't seem to trust FF defensively I think he's very unlikely to trust him in a 4-4-2.
  10. 1. I'd pick Westwood in goal. We've lost our captain/organiser in Loovens, plus Wallace, Venancio and Hutch who were all quite vocal and are gone/out. Hard to tell from back of kop but my feeling is we've now got a much quieter team and I think a more experienced/vocal goalkeeper would help the defence as a unit. 2. Has to be 4 at the back for me. Our full backs are variously, better as full backs than wing backs, young or just plain mediocre. The way we play wing backs its 5 at the back, not 3, meaning we carry no threat out wide, no outlet, and just end up inviting pressure onto our defence. 3. We need 3 in the middle of the park, otherwise we get overwhelmed. 4. Our best player imo, Forestieri, is best suited to a wide forward role afaic in order to get him on the ball running at defences and give him the freedom to cause some damage. So, putting all that together our best XI imo would be: Westwood Baker - Lees - Hector - Penney Onomah - Hutch - Bannan Reach - Fletcher - Forestieri (Lee probably in for Baker/Onomah if fit)
  11. I'm torn between my desire to say mean things about Leeds and my enormous throbbing man-crush on Bielsa. Love the way he sets his teams up Despite the fact we play out from the back, our defenders aren't actually that great in possession imo. The high press could hurt us. Equally, if we get out of the press our forward line will love the amount of space they'll have to work with. Hoping for a free flowing high scoring game. Which means it'll probably finish 0-0...
  12. Last season he was playing CM, with a deeper starting position, allowing him to receive the ball facing the opposition and carry it forward, which filled a vital role in Lee's absence. We're now playing him as a no 10, where he's more likely to receive the ball in tight spaces with his back to goal. That role is much better suited to Hooper or Forestieri when they're available. In the current 4-2-3-1 system he'd be much more effective in one of the wide positions imo. Or switch to more of a 4-3-3 so he has a deeper starting position (can't play him in a 2 with Bannan, we need a holder).
  13. Bump! Just passed the £150 mark on mine, but I am also confused about how to get on the official team so I've emailed JP!
  14. Westwood Palmer Lees Thorniley Penney Hutch Reach Matias Bannan Forestieri Fletcher
  15. Midfielder JP isn't good enough imo and Hutch can't be relied on for fitness. Whereas we've got plenty of young CBs for depth, and this would allow Hutch to be used as a CB more. Ideally / Long term we need both. But unless they're first XI quality no point.
  16. *Bump* Jumping on this a little late, as I was thinking of doing the 10k anyway this seems like a good idea, do it for a cause and so I can't back out once I've committed myself :D Here's my link if any kind of Owlstalkers want to start me off : https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/PhilRepper
  17. Our squad is much better suited to 4, we're just leaving our weak links exposed at WB. A fit Lee and Reach might work but persisting with WBs is madness when most of our options would be better off as FBs. Since we've not recruited the DM we've needed for 3 years Hutch has to be in midfield until the embargo is lifted, so imho Thorniley's been the most impressive of Lee's potential partners so I'd give him the nod for half a dozen games. Baker Lees Thorniley Pudil Hutch Bannan Reach Joao Fletch/Nuhiu Fessi (Lee when fit either at RB or Mid with Reach going to LB depending on which full back is playing best.)
  18. I'm not saying he'd be in my first 11, he wouldn't, but trying to convert him to the most physically demanding position on the pitch when he's in his 30 is moronic on Jos' part.
  19. Perhaps he'd improve if we played him in his actual position? Crazy idea I know. Could easily have had Reach as LWB and Boyd and Matias playing off Fletcher tonight.
  20. Jos should've just said "We've got 3 great keepers, Cameron finished the season well so he starts off with the gloves and it's up to the other 2 to be ready to take their chance when they get it." Which would've avoided this whole debate imo. Might've been what he meant and its been lost in translation tbf. Personally I'd pick Westwood as I think our defence could do with an experienced keeper to organise them with Loovens gone.
  21. It wouldn't happen overnight tho - clubs would have a few years to adjust, plan, put relegation clauses in new/renewed contracts. It's the reward for failure aspect of it that sticks in the throat imo. I'd happily see newly promoted clubs get a big wedge of cash as a reward so they'd be able to strengthen that summer ready for the Premiership but it would distort the Championship much less. They'd need to plan ahead for if/when they go back down which is what FFP/P&S is supposed to enforce, if they don't it'd be their own fault (as it was ours), and they'd go the Sunderland route.
  22. So, do we know if we're actually under an embargo then? Coz the thread got pulled last night before I'd finished it and I'm none the wiser.
  23. Westwood Baker Lees Van Aken Pudil Bannan Hutch Reach Joao Fletcher Forestieri
