Only like Ofgem setting rules for energy companies or Osted setting rules for education.

I work in the infrastructure side of electricity and our entire business is price controlled by Ofgem. They set rules on how much we can charge (our proportion of your energy bills, currently set at 5.3%) and even how much profit we are allowed to make (which is miniscule compared to our turnover).

If you can't follow the rules you lose your licence and can no longer be part of the industry.

The difference being is that those are independent bodies and don't have a vested interest like the board of the EFL.

Not like you to try and belittle people who don't offer anything other than an anti Chansiri suggestion!

Who was it who said, on numerous occasions, that an insult against DC is not an insult against the Ccub? Therefore aren't the club and DC separate entities? So simple question is the money owed to the players by the Club and not by DC personally? Even if he wanted to/ is capable of paying them personally is he allowed to under the rules set out by EFL?

  3. Not sure if it's been covered already, but don't the financial rules (ffp or whatever it bow is) say that owners can't just pump monies into an club? Isn't there an annual limit to the amount that can be gifted, a percentage of turnover etc? Is it the Club rather than DC who owe the players but lack the funds due to turnover have caused issues?

Wasn't the reason for selling the ground; by the Club, to one of his shell companies an attempt to get around the rules? Yes I know that was a huge mess up!

Not  trying to defend DC just asking the questions. Like everyone on here, I hope, I want the Club to succeed and rise again with DC or a new owner.

    Monk said something like....

" The club tell me there are one or two near"

Doesn't he know who they are or what the situation is regards their signing?

    A bit of a worry.

Or is it a case of, the manager gives a list of people he is interested in or positions to reinforce to the chairman/ board etc and they do the negotiating.

I suspect managers don't deal with the minutiae of the deals, so perfectly plausible that he wouldn't know much more than a deal is near or a no go.

  5. I don't know if it's been mentioned (and I can't be bothered to read back through all the thread ). Three new companies were incorporated on Friday the 21st, Sheffield2limited, Sheffield3limited and Sheffield4limited...DC listed as director and the ground as the address for all three. No sure of any significance but I'm guessing it has to be linked to the addition shares some how...

It's poignant for me, l lost my mum last year and it really affected me, as it would. I'm not a twitter user or a snowflake lover but if someone could quote me to those two pundit bell ends then I'd be very grateful. I was at the match yesterday and saw the comments on this forum on the train. I've watched the recording today and come to the conclusion that they were trying to be a bit smart and clever. What a pair of j Arthur's. Get me a link to the BBC and I'll be on breakfast time before you know it.

Sadly I've  been there as well.

Well done to the club in this situation!

As much as I would like anyone rather than dross I keep reading this thread and people keep saying is Bruce going to be announced tomorrow??

Are you not forgetting we haven’t sacked the manager already in charge for that to happen

Do we have a manager? Thought he was head coach....maybe a manager comes in above him?

  8. You took the words out of my mouth! Too many seem to be looking for negatives in every little thing the club does at the moment. DC seems to be trying to put things in place to move forward...how many have on here have said we need a CEO or similar? We now have one with experience, time will tell if this will be a good appointment or not. As the OP says give her a chance before sharpening the pitchforks!

Things can and will improve, this  is not the end....the sky is not falling down! The negativity has to change, the atmosphere at the match on Monday was toxic, even before a ball was kicked. The hatred towards some of the players is sickening. A fan screaming that someone should break Wallace's leg in training is beyond belief!
