  1. Typical Wednesday, couldn't afford their own players even then.
  2. No, it was a very good parody that wormed it's way into local folklore, fooling united and Wednesday fans alike.
  3. It took me 2 minutes to find 2 Wednesday fans who believed it. Which disproved your argument that no Wednesday fan believed it. Twice.
  4. And jay http://www.owlstalk.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic/136374-oldham-fans-view-on-last-night/

  6. we sang that after we beat you 3 1 at your place in 92, you nicked it off us!
  7. But bumhole lane is very mature Or yours
  8. It does amuse me when toy towners call you pigs. Bet it's rate annoying
  9. Goal rich thanks, and yes they talk about united a lot on that forum too.
  10. It was a wind up in a fanzine. Not An Attempt To Rewrite history.
  11. But Wednesday didn't call united pigs until the 70s as far as I can tell. Why wait 70 years?
  12. Doesn't mention pigs though, which is my point.
  13. Wednesday didn't discard bramall lane they couldn't afford it.
  14. United fans called Wednesday fans pigs when they changed their badge in the 70s and the owls face looked like a snout. The chant "Jack charlton is dead and the pig fans have fled" proves it dates back to then. It seems to be common consensus that it didn't arise until the late 70s so that leads to the question why Wednesdays fans wouldn't eat bacon 100 years ago but only started calling united pigs in the 70s/80s? Unless they were copying united of course 😉
