He's said he's had a lovely time and he loves the fans..told us about his achievements and told us he won't be playing for the club anymore..drop him an email and ask him WHY?

Please explain in what part of this makes you think that Westwood has made the decision to not be playing?

I think "I'm very experienced to know that these things happen in football and it's never anything personal" would suggest the manager has said he's not going to feature any more.

He ends this part of the statement with "the manager has made a decision which I fully accept and respect..."

Is this not am explanation as to why he isn't playing?

  2. Think you're on to something but I'd go further.

    Sack Monk

    Hutch/Westwood manager combo

Both love the club and have been here years.

    Brand them The Owley Brothers

    Watch the points roll in

  3. I'm finding it hard to stick up for him but...

I'm sure we will all agree football is a team game and that the key to success lies with a strong team and not one individual (Ronaldo, Messi, maradona for example are rare exceptions).

So why has monk not been allowed to bring in him own coaching team? He's been handed the job of managing this group of players and coaches, most of which have been here longer than the faint remains of the Presto branding on the leppings lane stand. He's a young manager with a lot to learn surrounded by tired, defeated players and coaches who have never been able to live up to the expectations set upon them. He needs help. And he needs to be given the freedom to source it.

Fans are losing (or have already lost) faith in him and it doesn't help when the man who employed him never seemed to have any in the first place by denying him this vital right.

  4. Monk is in the same hole that Jos put himself in.

Frozen out and discarded the players who would save his job.

I'm not suggesting that having Hutch and Westwood back would turn us into a top six team or anything but I'd bet strongly that we wouldn't be 0-3 down at half time

I read the statement Westwood put out.

Nowhere did he did say he wanted to play for our club.

Nowhere did he say he was willing to sit on the bench and fight for his place.

Why would he when his manager has told him he's not in his plans. Seemed very final to me

But he will file the paperwork wrong, and the scam will be rejected, and he will be personally charged.

    I can see it now.

He'll sign a team of players on 50k a week but he'll contract them as half a football player and half a tinned tuna factory worker 50% salary each.

Bingo. 50k a week player but only 25k a week on the wednesday wage bill.

We’ll have to offer him at least a two year deal and in all fairness he probably deserves it. He has been a decent signing regardless of his alleged salary.

    Think this is the issue.

We can't offer a 2 year deal on far more money than most of the rest of the squad for someone who's been 'a decent signing'.

Doesn't exactly sit well with all the other decent signings we have and it would impact team morale etc.

You need to be a significant cut above the rest to warrant having such a bigger salary

Back in December we play Forest and win 4-0. Since then Fletcher’s missed probably 10 or 11 of the next 13 or 14 games and we’ve dropped off a cliff. We’ll look back at this period as the one that cost us a successful or stress free season. The other strikers we have just aren’t good enough though we may wonder what might’ve happened with Rhodes had Fletcher had stayed fit? Typical Wednesday situation TBH

Which is why with Fletcher fit Rhodes should be back in the side alongside him. They had a good partnership for a few games and we were starting to see more of the Jordan Rhodes weve all wanted. It was no coincidence that Rhodes struggled to keep form when fletcher got injured. The whole team clearly felt it and I'd have confidence in saying it's a strong reason for our slump lately.

What Wickham has done to get a place in the starting 11 I'll never know.

When Rhodes scored his hat trick at forest Monk had nothing but positive words about Rhodes. Banged on about how hard he works in training, his attitude etc. What's happened? Has that stopped? I know his form was off before losing his place but I can't think of anyone else who's exactly stepped up and done any better.

How many minutes has 31 year old Kieran Lee missed in our last 136 games, yet he was given a new contract?

Do you consider Lee's contract as 'lunacy' as well.

I'm not saying that I think granting Lee a contract was wrong, by the way, just using it as comparison.

I'd love to see Lees weekly wage in comparison to Fernando in that case

  10. Hilarious stuff. Comes and plays one decent game and now it's a case of hoping he continues for the next couple of months to give him a new deal...

And then people wonder why we are in the position we now.

One of our highest earners who offers absolutely nothing 85% of the time. Should be one of the first out of the door
