  1. No club has cash to burn in the championship, they’re all hamstrung by FFP. And it’d be a surprise if there’s any premier league interest in any of our players
  2. Ferguson did it for years. Made decisions that were unpopular with their fans at the time (like selling Kanchelskis, Ince, Stam, Beckham) but he always got a good fee for them and then replaced them with younger players
  3. Agreed, 2 or 3 years can be a long time in football and squads need freshening up with younger players. Forestieri, Hutchinson and Bannan are all 29 now, Rhodes is 29 next week, Westwood’s 34, Hooper’s 31, Kieran Lee is 30 and Tom Lees is 28. Realistically is anyone going to pay a big fee for a championship player with no sell on value?
  4. Forest and Derby are better sides than us. We’ve lost to them both this season and we’re 17th in the championship for a reason. I’d have changed it earlier too but it wouldn’t have made much difference. We still never looked like scoring when Joao and Forestieri were on
  5. Good luck to the FA telling Pep Guardiola who he has to pick. Since the prem was formed Arsenal and Chelsea have won the FA cup 7 times each and Man U have won it 5 times. In the years before the prem Coventry and Wimbledon won it. You’ve not thought this one through
  6. Who decides what their strongest side is? And do they have to play their best players in every league game, FA cup game, league cup game and champions league game?
  7. We’re the last club from the second tier to win a cup. It’s one record we’ll probably never lose... can’t see a second tier club winning one again
  8. After watching that today we’d be lucky to keep Chelsea under 5 goals. We’ll do well to get past Luton anyway
  9. Turner suceeded to an extent, he brought in Brunt, Whelan, McGovern and Maclean that summer. When Sturrock took us up it was with Turner’s players. This current squad needs a complete rebuild like we did then. It’s stale and most of them are has beens or never beens
  10. True and the BBC shouldn’t be as influenced as commercial channels by the number of viewers. BT are looking to maximise their advertising revenue. Even though Man U v Reading is an awful choice for a live game it probably had more viewers than any other game they could have picked. I don’t think the BBC will be rushing to show us live again either after the Swansea replay last year
  11. Broadcasters pick the games they think will get the most viewers. Virtually every Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs cup tie is shown live regardless of who they’re playing
  12. Luton knocking us out wouldn’t really be classed as a shock. A team 2nd in League 1 against a team 16th in the championship. They’ll probably go into the game as slight favourites with the bookies. I’d be surprised if our game is televised
  13. Yeah 3 categories is enough. Cat A for pigs and Leeds, Cat C for midweek games, Cat B for all the rest
  14. Don’t think we’re that skint that we couldn’t pay him the last few weeks of his contract if that is the case. Only Chansiri knows why he’s not been sacked yet
  15. Our ticket pricing has almost become a non issue for this season now (apart from for the away fans coming). There’s barely anyone paying on the gate and reducing prices isn’t going to bring them back to watch an underperforming team and manager. The season ticket, membership and POTG prices for next year will be interesting
  16. He’s forming a consortium with Geoff Sheard to rescue us
  17. Not exactly an attractive proposition for a sale is it? The next owner will have to fund operating losses, continue to pay excessive wages to a number of players and is unlikely to be able to sign any new players. And the squad itself looks nowhere near a promotion challenging squad. I’d be surprised if DC sells, who’d buy us?
  18. You’re not factoring in the operating losses we have now and the future liabilities with the high earners we still have to pay for the next few years. The closest comparison to where we are now would be when we were relegated from the premier league with Hinchcliffe, Jonk, De Bilde, O Donnell and Donnelly still on the wage bill.
  19. Are we actually worth anything? We are a failing business. Anyone that buys us would have to take on the losses and still have to honour the contracts of Fletcher, Rhodes, Hutchinson, Lees, van Aken etc for the next couple of years. There’s plenty of failing football clubs that have been sold for £1 or some other nominal amount.
  20. You sound as deluded as Chansiri. He’s driven us off a cliff edge. We can’t sign anyone in January and have to sell whether DC is here or not
  21. It’s Chansiri that needs to go for the madness to end
  22. Facts: We’ve won 1 in 10 We’ve conceded the most goals in the league We’ve been in an embargo We’ve 5 of the highest paid players in the squad frozen out Have you got any facts?
  23. Unbelievable assist from Chris Kamara for Scott Oakes
