  1. When we looked good he was more forward and feeding balls through, but since CC tactics he’s moved further and further back... He also turns back to easy and plays the easy short ball rather than a through ball... However he’s still by far our best player IMO.... The concern for me is Harris who is an absolutely skilful player and makes great runs, but is then unable to provide an end product (cross/ pass/ shot) so it’s all absolutely pointless... Then you’ve A Reach who aside from the odd worldy goal (in a blue moon) is far to weak in challenges and again fails to provide an end product... On top of this you’ve J Rhodes who has just lost it... In his defence, his success was based on a smash/ grab attack force (a large strike partner) and multiple crosses into the box, which we have never accommodated him with that formation... However I doubt that he will regain his past form now after Middlesbrough and then us failing to accommodate him... Furthermore I think that the backbone of this team being based on the failed promotion teams and negative CC tactics is an underlying issue... I remember SB saying that he was struggling to drill out negative back passing football...
  2. Also my theme, but the FFP rules and (with hindsight) misjudgement on when to sell players/ appoint/ get rid of managers is a contributing factor... Misguided loyalty by DC and then embargoes (tied hands)/ free transfer of out of contract players is a result...
  3. L1 is a tough league to get out of as it’s completely different to the championship in terms of standard of football, which again (the Championship) is completely different to the Premiership... I fear that we could be down there for some time whilst rebuilding a team and then after promotion from L1 suffering again for years to build a promotion team to the premiership... Even then we’d be lucky to last more than a year in the premiership, as has been the rule...
  4. We’ve still got the basis of the team that failed to get us promoted and now are failing to keep us in the championship - when will the decks be cleared...
  5. When we turning out the results I had hope/ belief we’d stay up, but in reality we’ve for many reasons (most our expectations) still retained the same team that failed promotion... So I think now that L1 and a hopeful bounce back (within a few years) is the only option to clear the decks and build... Maybe the failure to sell players when we should’ve is (with hindsight) what’s cost at the moment...
  6. Things change in football pretty quickly and I'm pretty sure they were in envy of us a few seasons ago... It's also easy to catch a cold with the new rules and regulations in the championship and things can go south pretty quickly as we are witnessing at the moment...
  7. You've got to put everything into perspective, as the rules have changed now.... The (impractical/ unaligned) financial fair play rules are what's causing us (and other clubs) issues at the moment... Whereas before it was just the fact we had a massive debt that we (stupidly) were really responsible about paying back (for forever) rather than just entering into administration like most other Premiership clubs did (at the time) to clear and start again....
  8. At the time I wasn't implying this statement to SWFC (us), but the teams around the mid table mark like Birmingham, Huddersfield, Coventry etc... We've (clearly) always been in the relegation battle with 12 (now 6) points deduction from day one... I was implying then that we still have hope of catching a lot of teams above us - regardless... However since I made this statement the wheels have (well and truly) fallen off and our form (run of results) has stalled big time in crucial games and so I agree with your Point 3 in terms of battling...
  9. In football even loads of investment isn’t the answer, which Frank Lampard at Chelsea is an example of after doing well on peanuts for them and then failing/ being sacked after spending big time on players...
  10. Other than yesterday - I don't even see how why we would compare ourselves to them, as they are based on form (other than yesterday) likely to be fighting to stay up at the end of the year... FFS - we are going to do it this year and next year is our worry...
  11. In terms of Tone that can be taken out of context by the reader, which is unfortunately the problem with some written comments/ correspondence, as per this format... I therefore apologise if my wording has been abrupt/ tw@tish, as this wasn't my intent, which was just to clearly state my view on your view.
  12. Sorry, but my views on who is the better team are based on/ in line with the competition that the teams have entered into - therefore who finishes higher at the end of the season (all games played) is (potentially) a better team albeit we have a 6 point deduction... Also Barnsley are still potential relegation candidates (at the moment) so if they go down (at the end of the season) and with almost 1/2 a season still to play (it may still happen) - I would also base my view on their plan working/ not working on the final results/ position in the league than their position now/ recent result, as on the form table they aren't doing very well.. Also NT is the manager so we aren't managerless (your words) and if you could please expand on your points regarding the 6points deduction and players wages I'll respond....
  13. Sorry I think as much as us would be better terminology...
  14. I think that Chansiri is also trying to do his best for SWFC and from what I can se his son cares more than us, but has been let down (massively) by CC with not gaining us promotion with a team that was more than capable with sh1tty tactics... He (CC) should've just stayed clear for year 1, as he stated he would do (but didn't) and then what happened with Huddersfield in Yr2 absolutely baffles me (still) and also any Huddersfield fans that I know who actually thank him for the result - wtf...
  15. The same thoughts as me + if it's working for us don't change it - especially in our circumstances....
  16. At the moment they are way down the performance table in comparison to us and mediocre in terms of league position so I think we should see if their plan works before discussing further....
  17. We've also had some great players, but we fail to benefit from them due to our tactics... For example we all knew that Joao was a great player when we (SWFC) played fast attacking football and fed him quick through balls... However he turned to absolute dog poo when we started the CC porkie pea negative tactics with playing it back (from an attacking position), then across the back line (a lot of times), then up the other wing (not playing in dangerous cross though), then back, across the back line, etc, etc and then an eventual long ball to the opposition... Then the managers since haven't been much more attacking minded (SB said he struggled getting this negative style out of them) and hence he (Joao) wasn't the player he was/ could have been for us... However Joao at Reading who attack fast and feed him the balls that he needs to thrive on (like we used too before CC tactics) have inevitably got a player that is the 3rd highest scorer in the championship and if they are promoted I expect him to continue this form in the Premiership... You could also argue (with this view on tactics/ players) that we have also destroyed J Rhodes (who was statistically immense), as again we haven't adopted to benefit from his style of play... He needs crosses into the box and a physical strike partner (for smash/grab tactics), but we've had him as a loan target man or rather than play the ball into a danger area quickly we've just played it back (negative tactics as before).
  18. Under S Gray we signed some great players for peanuts that were influential in CC's (apparent success) over the following seasons... However we just pushed SG to the side for CC to come in with a few key players (big bucks for us) to watch and then tactically screw up our chances of promotion....
  19. Agreed - I expect us to finish above them (and Rotherham) in the league this year (incl. the 6 Points deduction)... I'm also pretty suspect on this entire Topic being a wind up given the title and then some further comments...
  20. I'd expect this statement if they were unbeaten and first in the table, but not for a mediocre (mid table) side (halfway into the season) that has had 1 good result...
  21. If we keep up our run of results (even with the odd hick-up) we will be absolutely fine... I just wonder who will fall into the fight over the next few months....
  22. Surely they'd have to finish above us (and also by more than 6 points) at the end of the season for this statement to be relevant....
  23. I can see a lot of teams in the Championship who think that they might be safe, but by the end are sucked into a relegation battle...
  24. i wouldn't change anything until the end of the season now, as anyone else coming in is just going to impose shitty defensive tactics whilst they get a feel for the players and the getting a goal/ holding on tactic just isn't the Wednesday way (even going back to the 90's...its crap to watch and doesn't work for us at all as attack is our best defense....
  25. Its got to NT & Bullen until the season ends now, as nobody else coming in can do anything...
