  1. Danielson vs Suzuki was great. The crowd took it up a level.
  2. At what point do the doctors say to him that maybe he has to stop taking risk over these concussions. When you read up on CTE it is very scary. Hopefully he's fine but 10 known concussions by the age of 22/23 is horrendous. It seems every time he gets any contact on his head he will suffer from it.
  3. We were poor but Hungary really upped their game from when we played them last month. They were organised and carried a threat on the break. That being said Sterling looked miles off the pace, Walker looked asleep, Foden got crowded out and Rice looked lost. Kane is obviously still not happy. He doesn't want to be at Spurs and his form is appalling. Also Sterling is not getting game time at City but people saying he's "been terrible for ages" must have missed the Euros when he was one of the best players in the tournament.
  4. As if those new Newcastle owners know who Wilder is. Imagine if they gave their unlimited funds to the bus driver with a chip on his shoulder.
  5. Hooligans are all cunts. England fans, Hungary fans, Wednesday fans it doesn't matter. If you go to the game to get into a fight you are a dirty scumbag who doesn't like football. Some people on here still sign off their posts with EBRA. That was the 70's you old twats. Grow up.
  6. Had he just come back from holiday and not done any summer work? Joking aside this is surely something a player would agree to. You hear constantly of players having to report back to preseason at a specific weight and they are given programs through the summer so their fitness doesn't drop off too much. The weighing of players would surely fall under health and fitness assessments.
  7. With this takeover what is to stop Newcastle moving their day to day operations and training base somewhere else? Could they be the first club to set up a training base and have all their players live in a different country and then just fly them over the day before a game? Newcastle to Malaga is about a three hour flight. Newcastle to Paris probably half that. If they feel that is the best way to attract the big names then maybe it's something they look into. Money is clearly going to be no object.

I agree on the Usyk/Fury fight. Fury is too smart to fall into the trap AJ did and sit back and let Usyk dictate. He'll come in heavy, move forward and get on top of him to grind him down. As you say he looked like he marked up quickly from heavy shots so Fury leaning on him, maybe using his shoulder a bit too. Basically doing all the things Joshua should have done. AJ only takes the Fury fight for money. His confidence is shot and he doesn't trust himself. Dillian needs the Fury fight because he's becoming almost irrelevant. I'd really like to see him in with Usyk though. He's so game that he'd give him a really hard fight. Love watching him box, and he talks a great game, but he's a step shy of that top level for me.
  9. Mason Crane Scott Borthwick Both debuted part way through a series in teams already getting tonked. They got smashed everywhere and never played again. It almost feels certain that it will happen to Parkinson as well.

You know that Fury has a plan in place for how to fight against Joshua and Usyk. He had a plan for Wilder and he'll have different ones in his mind for how he beats the other top guys. He'd be incredibly confident against Joshua even before seeing him lose the belts. Usyk is most likely the more difficult puzzle to solve and I dont think he really expected him to beat AJ. However, Fury moves so well that it negates Usyk's big strength and Usyk hasn't yet shown he has heavyweight power. Wilder vs Usyk would be a great fight stylistically. You know Wilder goes in looking to land that big overhand right, can he land it flush that one time and can Usyk take it?
  11. It would have been nice for us to try something a little different. Give Parkinson a go, give Livingstone a go. They'll probably be in the Lions squad and come in for the fourth Test when we're already 3-0 down with all the rest of the players confidence completely shot.
  12. I think they are booking Punk and Bryan well. the difference between the two is huge because Bryan was out of action for 6 months whereas Punk has been out for7 years. Bryan was in the Mania main event so it's logical he can fit in at the top of the card straight away. It wouldn't be logical for Punk to go in at that level. Also, I dont think anyone wants Punk to be a face long term as all his best work has been as a heel but they are not going to get fans to boo him yet as he is the biggest star in the company. He said that he wouldn't come back to wrestling without a good storyline to sink his teeth into so I think that the plan is there for him to shed the current "just happy to be back" gimmick. His match on Rampage was pretty solid though. Garcia is a star.
  13. Batting wise not really but their bowling is going to destroy our lineup.

Yeah it was obvious that the longer the fight went on the more spent Wilder was and the easier Fury made it look to weave out of the way. Wilder was basically out on his feet from the start of round six and he got picked off. He landed maybe two or three solid shots after that big fourth round but Fury was completely in control.
  15. As sad as it is i think that's probably true. Mount will come back in as will all the other favourites. I liked how we set up and created chances even with so many behind the ball at all times. The Grealish goal was one of my favourite bits of football this year. Grealish was on his bike looking for the throw before Johnstone had even caught it. Such an intelligent footballer. Also, how lucky was their number four to not get sent off? Already on a yellow and throws an elbow into a face. Some proper tasty challenges going in that wouldn't have looked out of place on a Sunday morning.

I saw this yesterday. Still cant believe how Tim Cheatham scored that 9th round to Wilder. The only round that was really a question as to which way it went was the 5th. I had it to Fury but can understand it going to Wilder. All the others were easy to score, 1st and 4th (10-7) to Wilder and the rest to Fury.

I've rewatched it this morning. Firstly, Wilder won two, maybe three, rounds. He could have won that fight though. In the fourth Fury was gone from the first knockdown, he was completely out of it and the second knockdown was because he was still glazed from the first one. After that though I think Wilder landed probably 15 more punches in the rest of the fight. He was swinging and swinging but missing and missing. I'm surprised he stayed on his feet a few times from round seven through nine. The tenth was all Fury until the knockdown then Wilder came back afterwards and caught him with his best shot since the fourth. Really great fight, even on a second watch.
  18. Ashes squad. Everyone you would expect bar Stokes. With no Archer, Stokes or Stone our bowling doesn't look good enough. We know our batting isn't good enough. Could be a long tour.
  19. Didn't you say earlier in the thread you have spent time in Saudi? Women are controlled from birth until death. They must have a male guardian who gets to make any critical decisions on their behalf. The guardian system means women can't travel or even apply for a passport, they cant choose a partner and may be forced to marry while still a child, there is a large percentage of women who have been affected by domestic violence. They are also discriminated against in employment, healthcare and multiple other areas.

There are two ways the fight goes I think; - Wilder flies out and swings constantly from round one, Fury weaves out of the way and Wilder is punched out in 6 rounds. - Wilder sets up like AJ against Usyk and gets boxed to death for 12 rounds
  21. You've only got to read 2 or 3 articles on what happened to Jamal Kashoggi to understand how abhorrent the regime is in Saudi Arabia. A regime led by Mohammed Bin Salman who ordered his murder. Not only did he order a journalist to be killed for speaking out against him he tried to cover it up by having five further people killed to take the blame. Their human rights record is also disgraceful. Their treatment of women, restrictions on free speech, torture, executions, etc. Horrendous.

Fowler vs Smith this weekend should be a decent scrap.
