  1. I'd imagine same numbers as last season as they've been wearing them in all the pre-season games.

    Fletcher has been wearing: 26

    Kean: 21.

Don't think McGugan, Dielna, Lachman, Bus will get a squad number but if they do I should imagine it'll be high ones, leaving 10 for Hooper possibly? 22 for Abdi (if we get him)

  2. So, has anyone found out the numbers yet??

New recruit Michael Turner has expressed his desire to play regular football having sealed a season-long loan to Hillsborough.

The Owls signed the towering central defender on Thursday and Turner has both eyes focused on Saturday’s tussle with Middlesbrough and beyond.

He told swfc.co.uk: “First team football on a regular basis is what I want and my aim is to get that here at Sheffield Wednesday.

“It wasn’t quite working out for me at Norwich so coming here is the right thing for me at this stage of my career.

“I have a lot of experience and that is key at any level. Hopefully I can help make a difference.

“I have joined the club at what seems a really exciting time, with the new manager, new coach and a really positive feeling around the place.

“It’s a huge club with a fantastic fan base and I’m really looking forward to it.

“I’ve played here before about five or six times and I have always been struck by the place, by the atmosphere, and now I want to experience that as a Sheffield Wednesday player.”

Turner will wear shirt number 3 for the duration of his S6 stay.

The Owls have signed Fernando Forestieri for an undisclosed fee from Premier League side Watford.

The gifted forward has signed a four-year contract at Hillsborough.

He arrives at Hillsborough ahead of the international break and will be eligible for Wednesday’s trip to Burnley on Saturday 12 September.

Crowd favourite Forestieri played a significant role in Watford’s promotion to the Premier League last season, featuring 26 times for the Hornets.

He originally signed on loan from Serie A side Udinese ahead of the 2012/13 campaign before penning a permanent contract in January 2013 of that season.

The sheer skill of the Italian Under-21 star soon saw Forestieri hit the spot in Hertfordshire and he has maintained cult hero status ever since.

Argentinian by birth, he moved to Italy aged just 16 and assumed Italian nationality.

Forestieri built up his experience with loan spells at Siena, Vicenza, Malaga, Empoli and Bari either side of joining Udinese.

He will wear shirt number 45 for the duration of his stay at Hillsborough.

I'm sure I saw somewhere Pudil will wear 29

  3. 31 goals in 157 games

Averaged to score 1 goal every 5 games, reasonable stats. How did he perform last time he was in Championship with Wear Ham?

He scored 17 goals in 44 appearances for Newcastle in Championship 09/10 and 12 in 42 appearances for West Ham in Championship 11/12 so not to bad tbf

  4. Judging by the team sheet on Twatter squad number look like:

    1: Westwood

    2: Palmer

    3: Hunt

    4 Hutchinson

    5: Loovens

    6: Semedo

    7: Matias

    8: Lavery

    9: Nuhiu

    10: McGugan

    11: Bus

    12: Wallace

    13: Price

    14: May

    15: Lees

    16: Lopez

    17: Helan

    18: Sasso

    19: Vermijl

    20: Lee

    22: Lachman

Dielna and Melo injured so I'm assuming

    21: Dielna???

    23: Melo???

    24: Lucas Joao???

  5. Remember when beswetherick got subbed off after 15 minutes lol

Yeah if I remember rightly he got tore a new one by a Grimsby winger from the 1st minute lol

Thing is he genuinely looked peed off about being took off lol

  6. I'm not in the know or owt but living in Loughborough I'm around loads of Leicester City fans (the wife and her family being part of them) but rumour has it that we're in talks with Leicester about signing David Nugent.

I'd have him, he's only 30 and he scores them for fun in the championship, got some pace as well

  7. They've just signed Shay Given so probably won't be after Westwood, or at least he won't want to join them and be one of 3 keepers competing for the shirt

Tbf if Westwood signed for Stoke would be competing with 3 others, Butland, Given and some Danish keeper they signed called Haugaard and Mark Hughes has come out today and said Butland will start season as number 1 so stop panicking Westwood won't be going anywhere 👍🏻
