  1. Imagine if Rhodes has been the answer all along - peak Wednesday l!
  2. Good managers can get a tune out of average players. Yes we’ve got injuries but still the starting line up tonight surely has sufficiently good players that a tune could be played from. To make football actually painful to watch is quite something and for making that more painful than the Luton game you can only point to the manager.
  3. Decent player but not as useful as Dave has been and would have been this season
  4. Agree with this - my view is that when we can start games with Bannan, Brown and Luongo as our midfield 3, then we’ll win more than we’ll lose, when we can’t then the opposite applies.
  5. I’d hang on to it for a while - just if Monk does bring some success here then you might have a unique collectors item
  6. You’re not wrong - we all need to get behind the current project win, lose or draw
  7. I think, if you can, forget last season. Let’s have a crack at this one and afford the bloke whose job it is to do what he’s said he can do. I don’t think he’s as far off as you might think.
  8. 2nd half at Bristol was awful, but 2nd half today seemed to be us improving. Izzy Brown improves us and we’d got a (really promising and did great) young lad making his league debut in his place. I’d rather we were applauding things like that instead of slating the club.
  9. I think we are doing better in what I’ve seen. There’s never a magic switch that sets teams on for promotion and in recruitment, apparent team cohesion and performance I think there’s enough to see positive progression. I was as pissed off as anyone this afternoon but I don’t expect us to go from abject last season to perfect this season. Perfect never exists anyway and there’s always a transition and middle ground. Fine margins are an actual thing.
  10. Well 12 wins in 46 would but it’s a little premature to extrapolate that as a certainty just now
  11. Good that we’ve got another 42 games to go then. It surprises me that people are watching and not seeing some progression in performance and it surprises more that supporters of the club don’t seem prepared to allow for bad luck and injuries anymore. Just maybe the internet generation are a bit entitled and unrealistic?
  12. Bloody hell Macaulay Bonne, that spawny goal you scored because our in form centre back had to go off that we couldn’t replace because of all the other injuries we had seems to have decided our entire season.
  13. Think it will be quicker when we’re not bringing on Reach and Rhodes to make a difference in the last twenty. As much as I support Monk and any manager to let them deliver their plans, we had an option for those last twenty that worked. The points they earned should have been replaced before they left and they haven’t so points lost already.
  14. We all watched Reach carry the team for a long time (when we had apparent top players who couldn’t be bothered) and score some screamers - he’s a quality player and has my full respect for his performances. He’s absolutely the last person in our squad that needs much criticism. If he’s not part of the plan then yes move on but let’s not pretend that we haven’t seen what a player he can be.
  15. Against a strong Fulham side, I think the young lads were generally great tonight. The gulf in age and experience was huge and they performed really impressively. There’s only positives in this imo.
  16. Be interesting to know how many people in this thread were at Elland Road last season. Monk is right to want young, dynamic players but we mostly need points. A proven point winner from the bench should be an obvious choice as things stand.
  17. It’s best to just find the mind-bending, unpredictable, can’t quite believe what’s happened next, and what the absolute f**k catalogue of ridiculous nonsense as a never ending roller coaster of excitement. You’ll not be disappointed.
  18. This is without a doubt the most obvious thing we should do
  19. Think I’m a 7 - pushing 8. In my mind the recent dross was a combination of a totally toxic dressing room and not enough management. I think we’re already a long way from that and looking forward to see a Wednesday team not controlled by individual player egos.
