  1. I totally agree but a lot of other clubs in our position would look towards their U23’s forwards. Do we not have any young No9 that with a little extra coaching can’t make the step up. If we don’t what’s the point of the academy etc. !!!!!!
  2. I have been an admirer of Bannan for several seasons but his repertoire is getting a bit tiring. His needless long range balls appear to be his first choice but too often fall short. In the past when he has been good we as supporters have put up with his odd indiscretion but now it’s getting tiresome. There has to be better so I think we are approaching the time to say goodbye. Sorry Barry but your performances are below standard.
  3. You might be right but Jim Radcliffe made his millions from employing hard working tradesmen in the Chemical industry, Sheffield with its history of Steelmaking has a lot of parallels and an abundance of working class which he can relate to so a new owner with his wealth and background would get my vote of approval.
  4. If you listened to all the interview you should by now have made your mind up that Chansiri tells mistruths and repeatedly contradicts himself 1. He put the blame on our performances down to the players completely defending Monks ability as a Coach/Manager - 7 days later he fired him. 2. He also made the statement he wouldn’t have gone along with season tickets preferring to charge more when we are winning and less when we are losing - if that was his initial thoughts WHY have we ended up paying extortionate amounts of money for yearly season tickets and then there’s the 5 and 10 ye
  5. One of Wednesday’s true legends, Albert Quixall was everything as a kid I could only dream of, a genius with a ball and a great guy, even probably a fashion icon of his era. Having observed the minutes silence before last nights England game I must say I was disappointed that the FA didn’t find a picture of him to post on the Wembley screens. Great pictures of Waiters and Nobby Stiles but didn’t see one of the great Albert Quixall - shame on you FA.
  6. Our shooting has been off target for years that’s why we become so ecstatic when we do score from outside the box. It’s a rare thing to see. Both Reach and Bannan have been having a pop over the last 3-4 years but how many goals have they actually converted from outside the box - not that many. It became a joke last season during the practice ‘warm up’ our strikers as their shooting was abysmal, very little power and loads of ‘fluffed’ shots. I’d like to see a striker who scares the poo out of keepers cos he can kick the ball accurately under pressure and generate some speed in the shot
  7. If he truly believes that as the owner he would prefer to charge his customers more when the club is doing well and less when the club are doing badly he’s no conception on how to successfully run a business. If he truly believes that then our performances over the last two years would guarantee we all need a massive refund or credit note. The more I hear the more I’m convinced he has absolutely no real business vision and a bit like President Trump he makes outlandish comments that he would like us to believe could be groundbreaking when in reality just make him look a complete fool.
  8. I’d love you to be wrong but despite the current feelings of the vast number of supporters I also believe it will be ‘business as usual - we are a family and we’ll stick together etc, etc’ We can only live in hope that there are some very important announcements he wants to use the national and local media to announce.
  9. Do you honestly believe it will be 0-0 after 80 minutes against Bournemouth tonight. Based on recent performances I can’t see us scoring and with injuries to our defenders I can’t see us keeping a clean sheet.
  10. It’ll hit him in the pocket after Xmas when he get no takers for the ‘Early Bird’ season ticket offer. He’s prospered off that ‘offer’ since the day he took over. With the number of supporters who have taken option of the early bird in the past the intake of cash has been quite substantial in helping to pay the wages etc. That will be a very big miss
  11. Totally agree A new owner would probably want to bring in a manager of their choice. I hope it happens soon, I can’t bear to watch more I nept performances week after week. Our beloved club is dying and it hurts to say that but I don’t see anything that gives me any reason to be optimistic
  12. As we know our club is a business that under normal circumstances turns over millions and we as supporter are customers that spend our money to buy/watch our team of players entertain us. With this in mind, we are THE CUSTOMER and what business doesn’t listen or communicate with the body that contributes to the turnover. The customers of SWFC want a lot of answers right now from the man at the top. Mr Chansiri as your customers we deserve an up to date response.
  13. Look I live in Bolton, I’m old enough to have seen some great games and success at SWFC but I’m not prepared to sit around and dwell on the past when my beloved club is being lead down the road to oblivion. when Leeds had that problem their supporters made it known to their owners that changes need to be made. Now is the time we do the same - we need to show our intend by making our feelings known by doing more than just shouting our sentiments on Owlstalk. Come on Wednesday supporters let’s demonstrate our concerns and rally to get rid of this unimpressive Manager and all hi
  14. Maybe if I was him and seeing my bank account at an all time low I would be devoting my time to find a realistically wealthy buyer. Then let him/her bring in their preferred Manager
  15. Make that two of us Doublo i have watched the Owls for over 60 years, through so good times and a lot of bad but always hoping a new season will bring new optimism but I’ve just about had enough. The sooner Monks our the better.
  16. It’s a question in these uncertain times that should be asked and considered. If the club was placed into admin then I’m sure Chansiri’s accountants would have already passed the large value items into family accounts that can’t be counted as an asset of the club. We already know the ownership of the ground which in fairness would probably be the biggest asset has already been signed over to a sleeping company where Chansiri’s wife is the main beneficiary. If I was a betting man I would guess that the all cash provided by Mr Chansiri since he bought the club have been entered a
  17. If it takes us to lose our next two games to get this inept, uninspiring excuse as a manager sacked then it has my vote. When we have lost in recent weeks but showed spirit I thought maybe just maybe we might have a chance of staying in the Championship this year but the chance of that happening with Monk in charge appears remote. If Mr Chansiri IS passionate about SWFC he should wield the axe today or sooner !! im afraid Mr Monk you’re times up
  18. Totally agree with your post Mc Dawson is a long way from being a true No.1 keeper. He doesn’t command his area. He rarely comes off his line to catch or clear corners. He’s not a really good shot stopper, his record over the last two years proves that - he’s let in an awful lot of goals he should have saved. His general positioning is often suspect. His clean sheet record is poor by comparison to other Championship keepers in conclusion I ask what the hell is our goalkeeping coaches doing with him If we persist with Dawson we will lose more games than w
  19. Giving some thought to your comment Clifford I can’t say your wrong but it had me thinking. When he first arrived on loan from Chelsea he was one of the many young players they nurtured in the hope that one or two really break into the big time and then they could either sell them on for pretty penny or in a very few cases they do actually break in to Chelsea’s first team In Hector’s case if you remember he was a bit sloppy when he first arrived but blossomed as the season went on. In our team he became a good player and I believe the additional coaching and game time he clocked up
  20. To be fair it was strange that we should go all out to sign Dunkley based on his reputation prior to having a double leg fracture. But it is DC who is paying the lad so we should just hope that he DOES come back as good as he was and becomes a reliable member of our defence for years to come.
  21. For what it’s worth here’s my take on the situation of Chansiri taking out a loan secured on the stadium. If we believe all that has been said he has financed our club from day one with his own money/wealth. If that is the case it may be true to say he’s put in £70- £100m Including the original purchase and covering year on losses since. As I have intimated several times that his personal wealth must have been well and truly dented so getting a loan secured on the stadium may well mean he can repay himself a good percentage back. If he then walks at some point in the future his pers
  22. I’ve been saying for months that no matter how rich Chansiri is personally or how rich his family is he cannot keep dipping in to his bank account when any degree of success or return on his investment seems light years away. At what point do you say enough is enough ? That point might be near - to finance a football club with no ongoing revenue must cost a phenomenal amount and I bet no Wednesday supporter would risk losing their family wealth just to keep their favourite football club pay the players unrealistic wages. I hate to say this but our club is broke.
  23. Zac Clough - believe me is way below the standard we should be considering. To be fair to him he cane into Bolton’s first team after some excellent displays in for the Academy team and was literally an overnight sensation bagging a few goal and assists. Forest heard about his progression and paid handsomely for his services but the fact is he’s lightweight and struggled to even make the Forest first team. Bolton took him back on loan but he underperformed so they sent him back. Rochdale then took him on loan and again he didn’t make an impression there so he’s now 25 years old and Forest
  24. You say he’s cash rich but in truth we don’t just how rich he actually is but let’s turn this around for a moment. Let’s say you were our rich chairman with say £20m in the bank - now that’s not a bad amount to have sat in your bank is it. But now with the pandemic you are having to support all the costs of running a Championship club with no real income from sponsors, turnstile money or even merchandising money. To keep the club solvent it is costing you personally let’s say £2m per month then in one season your £20m has been filtered and now you only have £10m sat in your bank How lon
  25. Oh don’t be a spoilsport - go on, just your loose change would do.
