  1. It's no Chucklevision.
  2. The Jaws theme was invented purely because the shark wouldn't work properly and they decided to go with POV shots accompanied by a theme. The famous 'Indianapolis' speech was delayed a day as Robert Shaw turned up too drunk to work. The days delay aloud a re-write and Shaw ad-libbed with his performance. Result: greatest character scene in cinema history.
  3. Liam Neeson has the biggest ******** in Hollywood. It has it's own agent.
  4. I've seen Metallica a few times, and whilst I agree Hetfield is a total pro when it comes to performing and geeing up the crowd, if you've seen one performance, you've seen them all, more or less. They are just a touring machine. Saw REM in Cardiff once upon a time and Michael Stipe was pretty impressive. Nominating somebody not already mentioned, I'd add Greg Graffin of Bad Religion and Maynard James Keenan of Tool. Also Myles Kennedy when performing with Slash. To whomever mentioned Til Lindemann, I've blu-rays of Rammstein concerts which are spectacular; and seeing t
  5. 21 Jump Street. Actually quite funny. I was surprised. 8/10
  6. Harry Potter and the Deathly Summats Pt 1. Moody teenagers arguing in the woods. GTFO.
  7. Been watching the 4K Potter films with the missus, as I've never seen them from beginning to end and have never read the books - yesterday's offerings were Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix. 4 and 5 /10, respectively. Not a fan, tBH, so far. The kids' acting is so beyond wooden, it's petrified and become coal. Followed by ID4 and copious alcohol - 8.5/10.
  8. Got to be Independence Day - which I watched again last night on my 4k projector on a giant screen; utter poo film, but so, so enjoyable. Having said that, the first hour is actually of fairly high quality - eerily setting up the tension of placing the spacecraft above centers of populations that plays out in parallel to Jeff Goldblum's increasing realization that an attack is imminent. Second half, though - disaster movie nonsense par excellence.
  9. Daydream Nation - Sonic Youth. Perfection.
  10. So much this. Brilliant film that I never want to see again.
  11. The Bends = great; but OK Computer = apogee of Radiohead. Their sound became muffled thereafter after they disappeared up their own arses.
  12. As above, went to Kuching and surrounding Malay forests. Stunningly beautiful. Never felt safer driving around in a free car we got from the longhouse at which we were staying.
  13. The Abominable Dr. Phibes The Haunted Palace. Two Vincent Price classics. 8/10 for the pair.
