    Paul Alcock

Cancer is not a single disease - in fact, it's a disease syndrome with the commonality that cells lose the ability to control their cell division and location, and become invasive. "Cancer" has many contributory factors including, but not limited to, genetic predisposition, somatic mutation - induction by carcinogens, lifestyle - alcohol and calorie intake, socio-economic inputs, etc. Some viruses cause cancer - e.g., facial tumours that have almost wiped out Tasmanian devils. If we all lived long enough, we would all get cancer as our DNA-repair mechanism is purposefully error-prone. Quite the medical hurdle. Also, in the west - HIV_attributed mortality is on the wane. Anyway, RIP Alcock

Just need the pigs to lose tomorrow and we leapfrog over them. Good times are just around the corner.
  4. I'm halfway through a ten hour journey to Cape Cod, to stop for a piiss and a piiss-poor Maccy Ds only to find we're 2-0 up away to Villa. Should keep me going the next 5 hours. Keep it up, Wednesday!

That's one of the banana splits, isn't it?
  6. Classic Wednesday. 10am too early for a beer?

    Let them eat Lobster

More like a massive trawler haul of pollocks
  8. I'm glad I started drinking at 8.15am now....
  9. I know. If Wednesday were NHL, probably Vancouver Canucks.
  10. You should support the Senators instead

    Ref today?

Completely awful for both sides. As said, Gardner should have gone and so should have Hutchinson. They also should have had a penalty for shirt pulling. Oh, well. Cry me a river.
  12. First one of the season. Here's to many, many more.
