John Carpenter's - the Prince of Darkness. It's all about Satan, if Beezelbub was an extraterrestrial possessor of hobos and scientists. Has Alice Cooper in it, and he stabs a dweeb with half a bicycle.
7/10
Jordan Peele's "US". Döppelganger dangers. Some funny bits among the bickering and violence. The larger concept breaks down if you think about it, but meh, enjoyed it. 7.5/10.
Blair Witch Project - revisited 20 years after I last saw it. Holds up surprisingly well. Quite unnerving, especially since I now live in North America and am familiar with similar woods and weird houses in the middle of nowhere. 8/10.
Next film on the Peter Cushing-a-thon: the Abominable Snowman of the Himalayas. Best film you will ever watch about a yeti...except it's more of a musing on man's wont to self-destruct. 8/10.
Advocating for Mark Lanegan. "Whiskey for the Holy Ghost" is a real stand-out effort that differentiates his work from that of his erstwhile band Screaming Trees (who are also brilliant).
