    BREAKING - George Hirst Gone

Ah, but the fans shouldn't be critical of the Hist without knowing 100% the full facts, it's ok for you to label them embarrassing for that. Not like you have been critical of anything without knowing all of the facts is it? The bad blood may have started 2 years or more ago. Good to see that BOTH parties allowed it to run to this conclusion!

    BREAKING - George Hirst Gone

What an unsurprisingly pompous post! Buxton - a long time poster stated that the intention 2 years ago was never to sign for us. Another poster backed this up. He has no history of telling lies and making 'ITK' stuff up on here. If we can't take what he said with any sort of credibility why should we ever do the same with anything you come out with? The fans have been critical on both sides of this saga, don't see why the Hirst's should be exempt from this. Why are they above criticism? You have been critical of the club plenty of times without knowing 100% the full facts.

    BREAKING - George Hirst Gone

Greta post. Mistakes have been made on both sides. The chariman has since brought someone in to deal with matters like this, unfortunately in this case the damage was already done. The Hirst's I am sure still had options open that would have been as good in terms of career development for them but chose the one which hit the Chairman - and as such the club and everyone connected with it the hardest. Doesn't reflect well on anyone involved.

    BREAKING - George Hirst Gone

But as has been said on here. the Hirst's had a move away in mind 2 years ago. Even if the Chairman had played happy families with them it looked like his future would have been away from Hillsborough. And, as you have just quoted, sadly bending the rules like this is something many PL clubs are capable of so what could the Chairman have done to prevent this?

    BREAKING - George Hirst Gone

Hirst snr was my idol as a kid. The breakdown between them and the club was disappointing and has not reflected well on either but the fact they have looked to circumvent the rules in this way to put one over on the club leaves a sour taste. A sad story all round but I wouldn't go as far as wanting to cave anyones head in over it!

It sounds wrong, but what's the worst that can happen?

    BREAKING - George Hirst Gone

Not so long ago he was being touted on here as the natural successor to his dad and his camp were bigging up the interest from Premier League clubs. It didn't look as though having a 'great experience' in the Belgian 2nd division would be part of his trajectory.

    BREAKING - George Hirst Gone

Surely both parties are at fault for what it descended into. Surely the Hirsts don't think the Belgian 2nd division is the best place for George to develop. Surely the fee that he would have cost to go direct to an English side would have been a relative drop in the ocean for Leicester so the need to screw us over wasn't really needed for them? Leaves a sour taste in the mouth. By not playing him all last season his potential tribunal fee had already decreased to our detriment. George had lost a year of competitive development and experience which would obviously have made their side feel staying with us was not an option but the PL clubs were still seemingly interested and would get him for a smaller cost, no need to put the boot in by doing it in this way.

    BREAKING - George Hirst Gone

As my username suggests, Hirsty was my favourite player growing up watching us. I can understand how he feels George may be better served away from S6 such has been the breakdown in communication but I'd love him to try and explain how he thinks this is the best option for his career.

My guess for the new #SWFC Kit...

    Is Gray the new Grey?
  11. Don't like to be unduly critical of anyone but whenever I see him he is due criticism! Undoubtedly one of the worst professional goalkeepers I have ever seen. What is he hiding underneath his shirt?
  12. Is he related to Ernest? If you're going to vouch for his character at least get his name right!
  13. I am still waiting for the impending transfer embargo that @just visiting has been placing on us for the last 3 years. It might happen sooner or later, no doubt at which point he will say 'I told you so'. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day though. I wonder if he has the same concerns about his own club making their latest manager their highest paid ever on the back of continually paying up the salaries of umpteen previously appointed bosses early?
  14. On this issue, seemingly your favourite - our finances, yes, yes you are indeed being thick. The point @SiJ has made relates to a survey the club sent out to fans regarding whether they would like to see prices lowered with a focus more on youth team coming through or prices maintained to try and maintain a fair level of investment. According to the club 70% voted to maintain the current price structure. This implies that while sales may be made to balance the books it wouldn't be a fire sale and we could maintain a core of key experienced players. We don't need to sell first team regulars to save money. Getting players like Rhodes/Fletcher, Abdi, Loovens and a couple of others off the books will help. Easier said than done maybe but even on loan the wages saved would be significant and there has been interest. What you think this has to do with anything Carlos Carvalhal has told us is baffling, even more so given he had left the club by the time of the survey. I'll support Wednesday whatever team we put out, goodness knows we've seen enough dross since 2000 but if the club so publicly state they are taking one approach based on 1 price strategy against another but then take the alternative approach but without changing the price strategy accordingly then supporters will be well within their rights to voice their opinion against this.
  15. Udders took advantage of our inept tactical approach against a team we had beaten regularly up to that point.
