    It was a very busy, thriving area when I started work at Daniel Doncaster in 1964. There were several large employers on Penistone Road plus all the peripherals that went with them. Also there still a lot of houses on the roads leading off Penistone Road.

    I worked on the turnstiles at that time and had a stopper until half time. I got into the North just in time to see Cannoville score their first and left as they scored their fourth. So didn' t see a single Wednesday goal.

    Yes, sad news for anybody who travelled away on the Supporters Club coaches back in the day. Went to many a match with her and other lovely people from about 1964 to 1970 then lost touch after opting to play on a Saturday instead. RIP Rita.

    Saw him play against West Germany in the Semi Final at Goodison. Probably past his best by then.

    What about demolishing the Club Shop and the other buildings in the car park, close the car park and put in 8/10 new turnstiles on Penistone Road giving access to the other end of the stand. Buy some the land opposite for the shop etc. and put a footbridge across Penistone Road into the old car park to ease congestion after the game.

    What about Fraser Preston? Surely he's training with the first team.

    Perhaps, just perhaps, Abdi is fit enough not to train with those recovering from ops etc. and is in full training with the squad

    I think that Thorniley is a RB/CH, at least RB is where he played for U23's. I'm fairly sure he started for Accrington at RB and was then moved to LB. But I could be wrong.

    Yes, I was there. After comfortably holding them for nearly all the match we were beaten by a soft shot which RS meant to push round the post but only succeeded in diverting it into the corner of the net. We were gutted.

    I suggested to the Supporters Club committee that they made them boomerang shape but they would not listen.

    I used to sell them for the Supporters club, so no they weren't free and they were thrown on the pitch for various reasons especially bad reffing. Collecting them after was a pain especially the wet and muddy ones that had been thrown on the pitch.

    Alan Finney was great player and along with Derek Wilkinson was an hero of mine while I was still at junior school. They used to torment the life out of their respective full backs and then switch wings to inflict even more pain.
