  1. Milan has already decided the takeover won't go through.

Whatever has changed in Mammadovs status since the takeover was agreed, Milans patience has extended plenty. Milan isn't a mug. He will have continued talks with other interested parties throughout this period of uncertainty, and today's message to Mammadov wasn't so much a deadline setting, more an indication to other parties that Mammadov is still in the picture, hence they won't get a knockdown price. They've got to match Mammadovs price with proof of funding.

There will be contracts in place for this deal, which will include timescales and deadlines. MM won't want to open himself to legal action by reneging on the deal, nor jeopardise the opportunity he has to pursue legal action against Mammadov either.

If I was MM I would be negotiating with other parties now and hoping to conclude a deal, before announcing that the HM deal is off. What better way to announce it, than to say 'it's off, but this is on'

Your posts constantly annoy me. You come across like you know what's going on. You have no idea.

Maybe you should keep your views to youraelf

Your considered theory is way off.

My considered theory is you haven't an idea.

  3. would you like to share that with us?

It's pretty much what I wrote earlier in this thread, just confirmation on what the political problem was and how it has been resolved.

Don't expect a massive outlay on name players. He is aware of what happened at Leicester under Sven, loads of big name players that think the club is beneath them etc and won't be doing the same.

  4. The Azerbaijani journalist that interviewed one of our fans the other night seemed very knowledgeable. He suggested this is the case. The issue being political rather than financial and that all the money is definitely there. And a lot of it.

Seems to be how it's panning out.

I am now 100% certain that was the case given the information I have just been given.

  5. Tbf it's not a catch 22 at all for MM.

He simply isn't going to pump any more of his money into the club as it eats into his profit.

I would imagine he cannot extend the debt as that impacts on the terms of the sale if its already been agreed.

And free transfers just mean you don't pay a fee to another club - it doesn't mean there is no outlay

Fat from it if they are coveted players

Most of this is wrong but worded in a away that makes it right. Mm will have to spend money on players to keep the club saleable and to keep his price as he wants it. This will have been agreed in the contract. Where he gets the money is a different thing.

By doing so it won't affect the takeover but if alone will kill he's profits.

  6. The situation at lens is now resolved. As of Friday just gone and they are to be promoted.

He's back in London next week to sort out the rest of the deal for us.

As I understand it he has had a few problems back home which are nothing to do with his own finances but more of a power situation. They have been resolved favourably for him.

He doesn't favour us over lens but wants to make progress with both. Lens champ league and us prem are the goals for the next few years.

  7. I really like Stuart Gray and have a lot of respect for the man..

But, lets theorise for a second; lets say we get a few million to spend, shall we say £5m-£10m at a guess?

Would you trust SG with £10m to spend freely on players?

To be fair, there are few managers I would trust with that amount of money outside of the Premier Leaue.

And again, SG has never managed a club where he has had lots of money to spend, it's a tough one..

    Do we stick or twist?

Personally I'd twist and change the manager I'm ashamed to say, we need an experienced manager who can spend money on the right players to make the right formula on the pitch.

Unless we get someone in just to buy players and SG just see's to the coaching?

    What do you lot say?

Also, I would not trust Waddle with all that money either.

Through work I have semi regular contact with the new owner. There is no way he is gonna spend the sort of fees being banded about on here.

The last time I spoke to him he was looking at Leeds, us and chalton.

He turned down Leeds because they bumped up the price once they knew he was looking. Not sure what happened with chalton.

Don't think he'll change the manager as he would have changed him by now.

He's a top bloke who likes to have fun. If as fans we can engage him, make him and his son feel welcome we should be in for a good time.

  8. You would only say that, if you hadnt seen how badly exposed our centre backs have been all season as soon as they get turned - its been cringingly embarrassing.

Facts are - strikers are thriving off playing on the shoulder and getting into the right spaces, and against our lot theyve been able to do it time and again.

Pace isnt the end of but centre backs that can keep up would be a start.

Most teams defender have been badly exposed this season in the same way and as often as ours.

When you consider our record with Lee and Semedo in midfield our defence has been good.

It hasn't been the same with Helen and Coke in there.

Signing him fixes one of our main recruitment areas. We won't have to gambool on the player settling. We can move on to recruiting other problem areas quickly, hopefully allowing for a proper preseason.

  9. All this talk about needing defenders with pace is laughable. We need defenders who can defend. He covers that and because of that I'd like to see him stay.

He's been here for a while now so we wouldn't have to worry about settling in. it would cover one of the positions we need early in the window allowing us to spend more focus filling other key areas.

  10. No, to be fair he never mentioned who would be staying or going. He did say though that he would like six new players, something mirrored by Milan himself. Milan actually said five or six. Kinda figure it stands to reason that it will be on top of those staying. If it wasn't, the six signings would have to cover, 2 keepers, 3 centre backs and Semedo's midfield role. Logic says, that is unlikely.

See post above regarding players leaving and the level they were involved.

6 players replacing the players who were involved last season, logically should be pretty easy.

    1 GK, 3 CB, 1 CM, 1 CF.

On top of those we have the loan market, which has been stated by MM we will use.

  11. Still think that, providing those four re-sign, the main thrust of the recruitment will be in the attacking third. That could change if the four decide to look elsewhere. We must be fairly confident of them re-signing, as replacing them would require us bringing in about ten new players, something Milan said we wouldn't do

Your putting words into his mouth to suit what you think should happen.

I'm pretty sure he hasn't said we will be signing 5-6 players ontop of the 4 staying.

  12. he would improve us no doubt, I agree with scram somewhat in that he made a bad move and isn't completely to blame for the mess at wolves.

the problem I see with him, he has had a horrible time lately and given our lack of quality all over the park, having someone who has had their ass handed to them recently isn't quite what we need.

as it looks, we're short of skill and high on desire which might be what he needs.

meeting his wages and if we need a player of his status is another thing.

  13. if a good offer comes in we should look at it.

gonna be tough for him to repeat last season.

two of the promoted clubs will most likely go down.

any money received should improve us.

however, for the first time in ages we have a platform and can arrange deals in our time. if we can sign up a few frees that improve the overall standing of the squad and line up a few gambols with the money we receive then id say go for it.
