  1. I also suspect he might not get along with Moore & Chansiri ...

  2. I'm not a fan of the way that the very mention of Brown's name on here seems to now mean it's open season to make sh*tty, sarcastic comments about one of our players. Fair enough, he's not set the world on fire for us so far, but he's not the first and he won't be the last in that regard, will he? He's a young man who I'm sure has tried his best whenever he's pulled on a Wednesday shirt - he deserves a bit more respect than he's being shown around here in recent times.

  7. I had a similar level of disillusionment when he didn’t track his man in the play off semi final, 7 minutes after coming on.

  8. I’ve just found this super secret leaked phot on line of the real new shirt. Haters are going to say it’s fake but I don’t think anyone can doubt the authenticity of this one! FFS.

  9. For me the contract one is quite simple. Agree a contract by June 30 or shake hands and move on. Don't care if its NML, Luongo or the Dalai Lama

  10. Not delicate, just trying to ask for some respect for a lad who not only is a lifelong Wednesday fan, but has been part of the club since he was a kid. Wildsmith and Dawson are both very good keepers, otherwise they wouldn’t be playing at the level they are. Perhaps they aren’t good enough for Wednesday, but neither deserve to be called abusive names. Alright sonny.

  11. No, I'm painfully aware that some on here like to tear down everyone else at any given opportunity. It just feels like there's a bit of a pile on developing now when it comes to Brown, and the very mention of his name just results in a stream of bile directed his way which is totally disproportionate to his 'crime'. He's not taken the p*ss out of our club, disrespected the badge, or screwed us over as so many before him have - he's just a young bloke who played reasonably well in a couple of games, then looked below par in a few more, before being reduced to a bit-part player. It doesn't warrant the constant p*ss-taking on here.

  15. Well obviously, Wildsmith has turned out to not be good enough for Wednesday. Dawson may yet make the grade after a great, confidence building season. If you think it’s ok to call a lad dogshite because he isn’t good enough for Wednesday and still can’t see how out of order that is, then you have a problem. Simple as that.

  16. Thought he was great in Home Alone. Still that was a while ago and I suspect he won't fit our young and hungry criteria now.

  18. I’d have been happy with Dawson as number 1 this season. Had an excellent season in L2 last season and nowhere near as bad as some on here would have you believe.

  20. There's been a fair bit of discussion on here recently about what formation(s) we might see next season. Well, Dom Howson has just posted a Q+A piece in which he's given his take on the matter: "I understand Moore plans on sticking with a 3-5-2 formation. Wednesday are recruiting players to fit into that shape. "But Moore wants Wednesday to be more tactically flexible next season. The plan is for them to be able to smoothly switch from a 3-5-2 to 4-2-3-1. It is why Moore is keen on bolstering the wide positions. Anderson, Wilks and Mendez-Laing would certainly fit better into a 4-2-3-1 system than 3-5-2." Personally, I'm not surprised in the slightest if that's the case. We clearly shouldn't ditch the 3-5-2 which worked so well at times season, but if you look at our from since switching to that formation, it didn't serve us all that well on the road: There's definite room for improvement there if we have serious designs on automatic promotion next season, and it seems tactical flexibility might be one of the areas Moore's targeting for improvement. After all, as I posted on here the other week, they've just watched Wigan win the division by being tactically flexible and adapting their approach on a game-by-game basis at times. Their starting formations during last season were: 4-2-3-1: 25 games 3-4-1-2: 8 games 3-4-2-1: 5 games 4-4-2: 4 games 3-5-2: 2 games 4-3-3: 1 game 3-1-4-2: 1 game Whilst they clearly had a favoured formation, they still started with something different in 46% of their matches, which is something we might need to be prepared to do in order to face up to the different challenges our opponents will pose over the course of the season. And of course, having the option to change systems mid-game if something isn't working could be huge too, especially now that we'll be allowed to make five changes. If Moore and his team have identified a more flexible approach as a way they think they can eek out those marginal gains which would make all the difference in the final reckoning, then that seems sensible enough to me.

  23. Listen I hope Joe goes and has a good career. The same with Dawson but lets call a spade a spade, both are . Just because they came through the academy, I have to sugar coat it? Jaden Brown is also and gets battered on here. Why is it any different? I couldn’t give a rats ass. He’s not good enough and neither is Dawson. Simple as that!

  26. Most clubs at this level and League 2 would be lucky to get him. Definitely the right decision for him. He leaves with some great memories made though. Two clean sheets in that cup run against Arsenal and Newcastle.

  29. OP makes really valid point for me, we have to start trusting young players at Hillsborugh to move on as a club It’s a concern, there’s absolutely a place to be signing likes of Stockdale when we only have Dawson at the club , Heneghan I think is a steady risk free signing in an area we’re really low on numbers in But I really want to see some young players added , not all that bothered about Michael Smith etc , happily take a chance on a Dom Telford as mentioned in another thread

  32. Compare and contrast. Both can play right back. Palmer is better right back, Hunt is better Wing back. Palmer can play left back and was for a time considered first choice there. Palmer plays makeshift Centre Half. Palmer has played at the level we are currently at as a mainstay central midfielder, yes many years ago, but still - he has and I believe he was in the team of the season too when he was on loan at Tranmere? I am not saying Hunt staying is not a great idea, I am saying you are an idiot.

  37. I've not seen much in him other than being able to run reasonably fast TBH. Moore has had a long look at him, not transfer listed him (as far as we know), so may have developed from the naïve player he looked at the start of last season. Be interesting to see what he brings to the team if he gets another chance. Personally, I'd be surprised if he has any meaningful involvement in the first team though.

  39. You need calling out on that comment, which in itself is a load of dogshite. Whatever you thought of him as a keeper, to speak of him in such terms, local lad and all that is pretty poor. As is your comment about Dawson who has just had a great season playing for a club who will be in the same league as us this season. Good luck Joe. I hope you get a league 1/2 side because you definitely shouldn’t be dropping down to non league football.

  43. He signed a shed-load of players that didn't fit his system, Corbeanu, Shodipo, NML - those wages could have gone elsewhere, or another formation could have been used, one that involves the abundance of wingers in the squad - a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3 (with Gregory flanked by 2 of the wingers). To say he didn't have options is simply untrue - he chose not to use them.
